    "Trifectas"

In your opinion, Whats the best in sequence 3-album run an a bands catalog?

Should be original albums (no best of's) and no Live albums, unless it's mostly new material (Like Roxy and Elsewhere)

You can bring up a new band whenever.

I'll start with Rush and Zep

Rush - Hemispheres - Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures

Led Zeppelin - II, III, IV

The Who: Tommy, Who's Next, Quadrophenia (skipping a live album, which is also great, and a compilation...)

These are the best ones that I could think of in a short amount of time.

My criteria was that, if I was grading them, two would have to be "A"s and a third could be as low as an A-minus. If they all have to be As, then over half of my list would get chopped.

    Excluding jazz

    Face to Face
    Something Else
    Village Green Preservation Society

    Byrds:

    Todd Rundgren:
    The Ballad of Todd Rundgren
    Something/Anything
    Wizard, a True Star

    Led Zeppelin:
    III
    IV
    Houses

    Yes:

Without thinking about it too much I'd suggest any 3 successive TD albums starting with Zeit up until Logos, but I'll pick Phaedra/Rubycon/Ricochet.

Ricochet is before Stratosfear, and qualifies under the no Live albums, unless it's mostly new material (Like Roxy and Elsewhere)rule.

I thought about that, but I used studio albums, anyway. For the second set, I could have used Thief (which contains some remixed/rearranged material from those albums), but I chose not to.
