Thread: Why does prog not win the Oscars?

  1. #26
    ^^

Those were in my younger days. I was coming down from an average whisky week and was on my way to campus to cruise for some skirt. If you listen very carefully, you can hear some hot extract of Music from MacBeth by Third Ear Band pumpin' from the speakers of the car stereo.

That was the week we set up the meth lab at the university. Good times.

Birdman was a pretty proggy film and it got Best Picture. The entire score (save a few classical pieces) was a drum solo. How prog is that?

Hmmm, don't at least half of the people here hate drum solos?

See... The beauty of this rant is that it thinks big! He's not upset that prog doesn't win a Grammy, AMA, Emmy, Tony, or Golden Globe...to hell with those! Prog should win a mofo Oscar! Top shelf!! I think we need to get a supergroup going with Tom Hanks, Jack Nicholson, Anthony Hopkins, Sean Penn, and Meryl Streep on vocals! They should do nothing but f***ing epics!

War and Peace won a Best Foreign Picture Oscar in 1968 with a running time of 6 hours and 54 minutes. That's pretty prog.

Sadly, Prog-Oscar only managed to conjure Keanu Reeves, Lou Diamond Phillips, Chris O'Donnell, Adam Sandler and Lindsay Lohan. Consequently: not even allowed into the loo at the Razzies, I'm afraid.

    Okay, how PROGRESSIVE is that?

Now that even classical music apparently is deemed to take a 2nd seat to the immaculately effervescent prog, I thought this old classic of a thread might spirit up thangs abittu.
