Possibility of post-Edgar Froese Tangerine Dream Emerging with Peter Baumann

Since it's posted on Tangerine Dream's own forum, I thought it was worth mentioning here:

This will be presumably strongly criticized by many TD/Edgar fans but seeing Peter back to music after so long (under the TD banner or not) is really a good news. I think nobody would have anticipated this, what a (good) surprise...

Yeah, that's something else, Peter returning to the fold. From both of Peter's posts, I assume an entire album is in the can. That's great that he reached out and two old friends made some music again. Maybe his is an example that others can follow...

The title of this thread is misleading. From my reading of Peter's postings, it sounds like he GUESTED on some tracks on the latest TD album, which was already close to complete when Edgar passed away.

Still, Peter returning to music *is* a very exciting prospect. I would live to hear what he comes up with.

If you're referring to Mala Kunia, there is no indicator he played on it. It sounds like another album altogether that Edgar and he worked on, one that may not necessarily involve Thorsten, Hoshiko or Ulrich. We'll find out within a few months.

It sounds like a bit more than that:

Surely you have other reasons to live.

I'd love to see TD continue. Dunno if legal consideration would allow it, and who knows where it might go musically without Edgar. But there are enough alums out there to make one helluva band.

Wow, great news to me! Ah but would seal the deal would be luring Chris Franke back into the fold. Now that would be magical!

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

    A few months later:

    NOPE.

    And now...

    Spiffy!
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

Also, Ephemeral Sun: it's a thing and we like making things that might be your thing: https://ephemeralsun.bandcamp.com

    Did Baumann change his mind???

They parted ways (he & rest of TD)...I kind of figured that sooner or later his contributions would emerge in some (other, non-TD) form. And, here we are!

They never really said why, as far as I could tell.
I figured Baumann would just recede into obscurity again, so it was a very pleasant surprise to hear that he was coming out with something after all these years.
I think this track sounds promising.

Oh HELL YES!!! Even though it's obviously new it still sounds like classic Baumann. Anybody have more details? Release date?

Wow, that's cool. I like that a lot better than what I've been hearing from Thorsten/Ulrich lately. Can't wait to hear the whole album.

The circumstances around the first time Baumann left TD were rather bizarre. He got bored with TD and decided to take a break by driving his car from Germany to India via Iran. Just try driving from Germany to India via Iran today and see how far you get.

Do you mean the (long deleted) Romance 76 and Trans Harmonic Nights ? That would be great. Autobuy for me.
