Did I just see someone talking up a 108° heat index? Bueller?

We hit 98 in central Va. yesterday. Went to Marty Stuart / Steve Miller concert last night (outdoor venue). They moved the start time 1 hour so by the time everyone arrived the venue was mostly in the shade.. picked a great spot for our chairs and had a breeze all evening..
It's all relative.......here, around 10% relative. Seriously though, that 108° heat index was only 1 day. Compare that to a 4 day weekend back east.
Here's the thing: the humidity east of the Rockies moderates temperatures, and limits them to the upper 90s during a heat wave. If all that humidity was to evaporate, it would *BE* 110, 115, 120 in places like NYC, Philly and DC during a heat wave. One way or the other, everyone feels the heat. I personally prefer the way in which my clothes aren't dripping with sweat when I get home.
Every winter jacket I've purchased since the late '80s has been purchased in the spring, when I got a smokin' deal on them.

I Denmark there hasn't been one snowflake yet, only rain, hardly a single night with frost.
It has been a record year. Mud everywhere.
Right, people think they're dead but once they warm up a little they wake up. It's common down here. When I had mango trees I'd see 'em in my yard. All I see now are cats, possums, ducks, and ibis. And anoly lizards.
Vic2012, don't you think that a lot of things happen because of astrology things, star movements? For example, on this website ( here: https://www.zodiacsigns-horoscope.co.../gemini-virgo/ ) I have found a lot of evidences how zodiac signs can affect on human bodies and human lives as well. You can read and make some conclusions for yourself, if you're interested in it.

I heard this might be the first February since recording weather that Baltimore hasn't had any snow.
NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF STUPID PEOPLE IN LARGE GROUPS!
This winter, Boston's had just 15 inches of snow so far, 0.5 inches in Feb, while in 2015 we topped 110 inches of snow.

Meanwhile here in the desert, we've had a good soaking this winter.

No snow here, just lots of rain.
About 49 duh-greez down here this morning. I think I like it.
This coming storm is so BIG it deserves 2 running threads.
The End Of The World as we know comenses starting Friday night into Saturday. NWS has finally committed to an expected total for Long Island NY of 8 to14 with possible increases . Who knows where it could go , the sky"s the limit.
Weather people are collapsing on live TV in orgasmic embolisms. Weather ladies spontaniously loose their eggs while weathermen go bald before our eyes.
Its The End!!
Stay tuned , we will return after this commercial announcement............

If my IQ box set doesn't arrive today or tomorrow, this storm is going to hold it up further. Jebus!
From accuweather:
Meteorology math: flurries + [4 - 8] = [12 - 18]FRI 1/28 34° /20°
Cloudy with a few flurries
rain drop 49%
WINTERCAST
Storm total: 12 - 18 in
SAT 1/29 21° /10°
Blizzard, accumulating 4-8"
rain drop 98%
WINTERCAST
Storm total: 12 - 18 in
Maybe my arithmetic is off, but that looks like a minimum of 8 inches of flurries.
The French Toast Alert Level is 4.
(what it probably means is that the amount of snow to expect under "Blizzard" conditions is 4" to 8", but it looks weird)
NWS just upped the Long Island totals, 10-16 inches.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !
If my IQ box set doesn't arrive today or tomorrow, this storm is going to hold it up further. Jebus!
