Sometimes drumming is looking for good team players.

I'm a sucker for a good drum-line. Used to play in one in high school. Fun!

    For that which is not,
there is no coming into being
    and for that which is,
    there is no ceasing to be;
yea of both of these the lookers into truth have seen an end.

I don't know the name of the drummer I saw the other night performing with The Lord of the Dance but he was 'effing' amazing!

"Very, very nice," said a man in the crowd,
    When the golden voice appeared.
She was gold alright, but then so is rust.

dunno Morgan Yoshida and Kerman are over 50 or so and still sound innovative and fresh to my ears
just saw the 3 of them at the RIO Japan fest in Tokyo a few weeks ago

I recently discovered Kenny Grohowski playing with Secret Chiefs 3 - this guy is phenomenal
    Ches Smith is amazing too
I suppose that is a debatable issue, for me it's pretty literal, an era where certain musicians were on the cutting edge and at the top of their craft, and contemporary.
    IE.
Louie Bellson, Shelly Manne, Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Art Blakey, Max Roach, Philly Joe Jones., etc 60's

Keith Moon, Tony Williams, Billy Cobham, Lenny White, Aynsley Dunbar, Neil Peart, Alphonse Mouzon, etc, 70's

Tommy Aldrich, Rod Morganstein, Terry Bozzio, Vinnie Colaiuta, Pat Mastellato, Sheila E, Simon Phillps, Gary Husband etc 80's

Mike Portnoy, Danny Carey, Danny Carey, Travis Barker, Gavin Harrison, Scott Travis, etc. 90's

    and so on.....

Not only are your decade placements arbitrarily "fuhschtoinkenah" (eg., Tony Williams was at the top of his game when he was 17 -- in 1963!), but apparently, Danny Carey is so good he needs to get mentioned twice

I love how the still for that is everyone looking to the drummer for cues...

Plasmatopia: Maybe a song in D minor that has never been played?

bob_32_116: That would be a terrific triple bill: Cyan, Magenta and Yello.

trurl: The Odyssey: "He's trying to get home."
