Terry Riley's Influence on Prog-Rock (Tangerine Dream, Gong, Soft Machine)

    Hey Everyone,

Innerviews has a new interview with Terry Riley, the father of minimalism and one of the earliest pioneers of tape looping.

The interview is of relevance given there is in-depth conversation with Terry about his days spent with Daevid Allen. It also looks at him jamming with Robert Wyatt, and how he and Edgar Froese very significantly influenced one another.

It's probably the most important interview I've ever done. Have a look if you're keen.

on Daevid Allen "He’s an extraordinarily gifted guy. Gong is also one of my favorite bands. It was one of the places that rock ended up that was very vital.
