There is probably no Prime Minister who did more than Whitlam to shape modern day Australia. He was PM for only three years, but his influence was out of all proportion to the amount of time he held office.

So sorry to hear this, Bob. He sounds like a true progressive so I know I'd have supported him were I an Australian citizen.
I've posted once or twice before that I believe that my life was probably saved in Vietnam by an air strike from the Australian base Berea against a Viet Cong attack on the US Navy camp at Cat Lo. I will always hold your country in the highest regard, and if the fates allow, would love to visit your country before I "leave the building".
