Glass Hammer is up for three categories and we'd really appreciate the votes!

Epic Of The Year: The Return Of...
About the only things that reminds me of Rush are the lead breaks on the song Arion. I was def. going for a Rushy-vibe there.

Thanks for the comments. You've made my day! So glad you approve :)

Awesome! Let me know what you think!
I think you do! <g>
Please scroll to the bottom and vote for our track, Glass Hammer - Return Of Daedalus. ...
LOUD is the way to hear it! Glad you're enjoying it! Any favorite tracks yet?

My background (besides classical) is metal. My first band was Wizards, a power trio with proggy influences, but mostly a hybrid of Rush and Black Sabbath. As for Glass Hammer, there's been some metal...
We'll have a big video release for Halloween! Scary stuff! https://youtu.be/VYvrAgui0xI

I suppose I did! <g>
So glad you like it! Return Of Daedalus is the first track I wrote for the album. I kept Reese Boyd busy for several hours doing those guitar tracks, and I'm glad I did!
As for the "little trippy...
Thank you! I'll take all the blessings I can get! :)
I don't think the multi-tracks for Shadowlands still exist. In fact, I'm certain of it! But I wouldn't touch that one :) We actually suffered a hard drive crash 1/2 through recording that album and...
We (Fred and I), were self taught, though I had a mentor-producer in the 80's who taught me a lot about mixing. Thanks for asking! Glad you're interested :)
Steve
The first GH album was produced in my apartment. We were only going to do demos, but realized our demos sounded better than anything we could do in our local studios. We'd both already had experience...
I should probably get more albums up on Bandcamp. And you're right about streaming and Glass Hammer. It costs a great deal to make albums, even when you own the studio! I can't just give the music...
I played some guitar on that one, but all the cool lead work is Reese Boyd who has been guesting on the last few albums. He's way more than a guest on ARISE though.
Steve
You can pre-order on bandcamp today! https://glasshammer.bandcamp.com/
You'll find it on bandcamp very soon! :)

If you want to whet your appetite for ARISE, check out this review! "Arise is the sound of a band one-upping itself at every turn. God knows what they will come up with next…"...
It's available as a download on our website in the "Ultimate Middle Earth" download bundle. It has Journey Of The Dunadan, The Middle Earth Album and the Making of a Glass Hammer Adventure. I had fun...
Well you made my day! It was sort of a clumsy affair. We had no idea there was a prog-rock audience left, but we hoped to find them just the same. I was into a couple of narrated albums a few years...
Our first album is one we'd like to forget as well! But without it, there'd never have been a second one! And it sold absurdly well!
Very glad you stuck it out and came back to us! We always try to...
I found Jon on a youtube video of his Yes tribute band! :)
The funny thing about the Jon D. / Glass Hammer vs Yes situation is that once I'd heard him sing on one of our songs I knew he'd eventually be drafted into Yes. He called me right after they...
Not really recent, but we probably spoke online within the last 3-4 months. He's doing great as far as I know. Super talented dude! Plays every instrument in the band and is a really powerful singer....

With Jon living in Ca. and the rest of us in Tennessee it would have been difficult to arrange rehearsals so it never even came up. He did sit in with us and did If The Stars a couple of times on...
Starting at about 3:25 after the synth solo, that's Walter Moore. Then comes the really intricate part "now a captain..." is me. Then Fred's voice comes in and repeats what I sang. Then you'll hear...
Don't get me wrong. Fred is a MONSTER musician and over the years, certainly did the majority of the keyboard work. But I suppose I did much more of it than most people know.
I think the Moody Blues cruise was 2014 for us, nearly 10 years! CTTE was 2018. We were scheduled for the next CTTE, and the band was the tightest we'd ever been, but that cruise was canceled. I do...
Good question and I completely understand why you've asked it, given the common perception of how Glass Hammer works. But you might be surprised at how much keyboard work was done by the bassist over...
Correct. He co-wrote that one too.
There'll be lots of keys on ARISE, though I'm playing them all. Hannah Pryor sings lead on 90% of the album. Reese Boyd does 90% of the lead guitar work. I think you'll dig it.
Steve
Same drummer as on IF, Cor Codium and Perilous. :)
Fred co-wrote "Rift" on Arise with me, and that's him playing guitar.
ARISE ends with a very trippy, epic-length instrumental! I think you'll dig it.
Steve
CD release is October 27th. The album is "my take" on a space rock album. (which could mean anything, i suppose!) <g>
I think you'll like it!
Steve
Thank you!!
That's me (Steve). Hannah sings lead on 90% of the album though.
ARISE is my take on a prog-rock / space-rock album. I think you guys will enjoy this one!

You might see a few people you recognize! Hope you like the song.

Oh! lol Glad you like the hirez...obviously my favorite way to listen.
It just depends on the song. I write a few on guitar or bass, he writes a few too. :::steve::::
Speaking for myself (Steve), I'm no fan of progressive metal, and honestly haven't listened to any
of it since sampling a track or two in the 90s! I'm pretty certain Fred feels the same.
I DO love...
Thanks! Bass player is me (Steve Babb) and very often the keyboardist too (on several of the tracks). Fred is doing more guitar these days. :)
It's the last day for autographed books and CDs. We'll autograph the whole Skallagrim trilogy!

If you don't like DC you probably wouldn't like Skallagrim. But we've not gone full on prog metal. I'm not even a fan of the genre. :( Can't stand the stuff!
There's certainly heavier songs than on...
