    "Name the album" cryptic quiz

Answers are names of albums that most people here should know of. Not necessarily "prog" (whatever that is).

    (1) Give unsolicited input to a process.
    (2) It's been a good year
    (3) Elton John enjoying some classical music, we hear
    (4) Possibly initiated by the hounds
    (5) Labial upward concavity
    (6) Bono, presumably
    (7) For improved reception
    (8) Life on Mars? We desperately hope so
    (9) Necessitates use of the steering wheel
    (10) 0/Au

One answer per person, please, or at least wait a while between answers to give others a chance.

    --------------------

    Solved: All done!

    Some extra clues:

    (2) and (7) are ladies.

The singer in (3) is no more.

The bands of (8) and (9) are often compared.

Another clue: I didn't plan it this way, but by sheer coincidence 2, 7 & 8 all have something to do with horticulture.

    -----------------------

    More clues:

    (2) has to do with Elvis
    (7) could be to do with photography
    (8) there is an association with PE
    (9) supposedly quite painful

    No, I don't think they're too easy.

That said, 6 would be "close to Dave Evans"... Close To The Edge, that is.

Meddle, Foxtrot, CTTE and SMiLE are correct.

Who the hell recorded "Bark at the Moon"? Never heard of it.

So would 9 be Autobahn by Kraftwerk?

Autobahn would have been quite a good answer, but it's not the one. It actually refers to something that you don't find much on the autobahn.

Far from "too easy" these are way too cryptic for me.

    3. A (K)night at the Opera'?

Does it matter that this waste of time is what makes a life for you?

Not The Byrds, and not Red Rain (is there an album of that name?)

It's hard to think of more clues that don't give them away, but I have posted a couple.

9 - The Bends by Radiohead

Pretty sure I know the rest of them thanks to the extra clues in your edit, but I will wait a while as requested.

    Yes it's The Bends.

Come on, the rest of you. The remaining ones all have something to do with plants, and no, Robert is not involved.

Wasn't there also an album called "Dangerous Curves Ahead"?

Pretty sure you are right, leaving only 2 and 7, each by a female artist... no comment on why those are the last two remaining...

I will say again, I don't think those were too easy at all, even with some of the extra clues.

    All solved!

Discovered this too late, but it was fun to try to solve them without peeking at the guesses. It was like a musical crossword puzzle.
