    OMG - horrible!

    So sad to hear this

Oh no! I can't believe it! One of the greatest of all time, and a virtual icon of Italian rock at large... Gawd DAMMIT!

Among the headlines of Il Messaggero, one of the country's top papers:

This is impossibly sad. He still had a lot to offer, and his voice was amazing.

    This is horrible.

One of the best voices in prog, for one of the best bands, from any Country.

    What a loss.

This is extremely sad news indeed. What a talented and genuinely nice person.

Total icon. What a unique and beautiful voice. Ironically, every time I see a forum subject heading with RIP, the driving double-time chorus of "R.I.P." pops into my head.

Very sad. That first time seeing him at NEARfest was one of the top concert experiences any prog festival I have been to.

Seeing Banco at NEARFest was a spine-tingling experience. Francesco's voice is one of my favorites. He'll be missed.

Terrible news. I agree, that first NEARFest performance was fantastic. I'm grateful to the NEARFest crew for bringing them to the US twice.

Wow...I was actually listening to Da Qui Messere si Domina la Valle album on my way from work yesterday and thinking to myself "this must be the best voice in the whole progressive rock"

    I am shocked...RIP

What a tragedy! As Alan said, a genuinely nice man with talent far bigger than his frame. A privilege to have seen them twice and to have met him. RIP Francesco! You thrilled a lot of people with your voice. Multo grazie!

I was privileged to see them play at Progfest 2000.

Also got to meet the band the day after the show at Walker's house.

I will be playing a lot of Banco this weekend.

THE BEST voice in Prog .

I look forward to meeting him in the Kingdom
until then he will Rest In Peace
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?
