All JOTC cd's sold on cdbaby til year end will contribute to the California Fire fund. So if you're missing any now is a good time to buy.

^ Missing none here, but if it weren't for the fact that I hardly know anyone who still carries a CD-player I'd probably throw in a few buys for Christmas.

Our LIVE ALBUM, Witness, is being mastered and will be released soon.

It was recorded at the SeaProg festival in Seattle in June of 2017, in the beautiful-sounding Columbia City Theater, and features the original quintet of Damon Waitkus, Emily Packard, Kate McLoughlin, Jason Hoopes, and Jordan Glenn playing songs that draw from our ten years of playing together.

    ***

All of our physical CDs are now at an all-time low price of $8 on CDBaby. We are not likely to press any more CDs once these last copies (of all albums) are gone, so grab one soon if you are interested!

Heyyy, so I'm not the only one! They're sooooo good dude, and so few people even know they exist. What's your favorite album of theirs?

Well I like all of their albums but I think that they have been on upward trajectory and their latest one Repetitions of the Old City II is probably my favourite one.

    From the band's website:

Our live album, WITNESS, is slated for release on October 3rd! We are thrilled to be teaming up with Oakland label GEOMANCY, champions of an ever-growing array of adventurous sounds emanating from the Bay Area.
WITNESS was recorded at the beautiful-sounding Columbia City Theater in Seattle in June of 2017 as a part of the SeaProg Festival. It is enormously gratifying, after over ten years of performing as a band, to finally have a high-quality rendering of the live JOTC. It is a different animal from our studio offerings--different feel, different energy, often radically different arrangements. We put a ton of work into this show in particular--the last time the original quintet of Damon Waitkus, Emily Packard, Kate McLoughlin, Jason Hoopes, and Jordan Glenn performed together--and can't wait for you to hear it!
Excited! I live on the east coast so it's not likely I'll actually get to see them live any time soon (if ever).

This means that they'll have a roster of seven - 7 - full studio releases in about a decade; eight if considering the mini-album of covers. That's pretty damn amazing and impressive, given the sometimes extremely elaborate nature of their work.

And I think they have constantly upped their game with each release. Amazing band!

Has anyone heard the new live album yet? I've listened once so far and liked it.

I bought the digi-file and I am 2 minutes into The Old Man and the Table Saw. Divine rendition! I love this band.
