Thread: SUNSET VINYL

    SUNSET VINYL

I just launched a store front on Amazon. Here is the link:

    Sunset Vinyl
    http://www.amazon.com/shops/A1084H7M775V80

I've posted 1300 records so far (as of 12/21/13). Here are some of the genres:

    • Blues
    • Industrial
    • Jazz
    • British Beat
    • Soul/R&B
    • Rock
    • Psychedelic
    • Alternative
    • International
    • New Wave/Punk
    • even a couple of Prog titles!

They have been posted in no particular order, so I apologize if it appears to be a hodgepodge with a concentration of soul and r&b for now...

I'm gonna start with the sealed records before I begin to tackle used LP's, singles and CD's.

    HAVE A LOOK!

Thanks I'll check them out. I was curious as I thought about selling some lps on Amazon too or Ebay. How do you plan on shipping them? Are there cardboard boxes made specifically for that? Where can you buy them at?

I've already sold five records! One was a Jonathan Richman LP for 35 bucks.

I'm on my way to the post office now. I'll give you the skinny when I get home this evening.

I ordered 100 record mailers from the Boxery, actually bought them on Amazon. I've used U-Line before for other box needs.

I use the USPS and sent the records 'media mail' in most cases. It costs about $2.50 for postage along with the cost of the mailers. You can purchase inserts as well- These are just square pieces of cardboard or other packing material. I cut up the cardboard myself. I'm breaking even on postage.

I receive orders and mail the records the same day. I hope this will lead to good feedback and a high seller rating.

BTW- I'm about to post some T. Dream records in my store now...

Curious, where are you getting these LPs? Did you buy them for resale? If they're part of your collection, why are so many unopened?

These are all from my personal collection accumulated in the 70's and 80's mostly. I was a buyer in retail and wholesale for almost twenty years. In my listings I've noted some have cut covers because they are promos or cutouts.

And you'd sell them without ever having heard them?

Aside from the CD's in the prior post I will be putting together a list for ProgEars of CD's that I will not post on Amazon. These will be offered at THREE-FOR-TEN-DOLLARS. These include Mars Volta, Anita Baker, Dire Straits, Moulin Rouge, Donald Fagen, Robert Cray, NRBQ, Korn and many more!

I added some international titles yesterday. I don't know what I'll find today...

What vinyl records are you looking for?

  21. #21
Added some embarrassingly silly items today!

  22. #22
Currently entered some soundtracks and Tangerine Dream titles. You must look deeply into my list to see much more...

I've sold 130 albums, that's about ten percent of what I've listed!

I would like to take the time to thank the person that started this thread. I found out from my mom yesterday that my grandma is getting me a record player for my birthday.

You young whippersnappers!! I was at a garage sale recently and a twenty-something guy said to the woman with him, "Look! A vinyl player!" People don't even know what 'records' are anymore...
