Heard it. I like it. Not blown away.
IMHO, the best thing Metallica never did was Kirk Hammett's solo EP "Portals".
All instrumental, very proggy, and nothing like anything else Metallica has released. Probably one of the best releases of 2022.

Yeah I like that Portals album a lot. Not feelin' this latest Metallica song. I liked Lux Aeterna, but not interested in the album to be honest.

I heard "If Darkness Had A Son" again. Second spin. I like it more. Kirk plays a rare, pretty good solo.
Make that month+, or for a while. Busy times. Time to go from few posts to no posts, for some time. Not that this was a crucial update, but there it is, thanks for putting up with it :-)
Rolling Stone made a Top 100 Metal songs. Not "Hard Rock and (Heavy) Metal" songs.

I'm three songs into an album called Hypnosis Of Birds by Holocaust. I'd read a comment on YT that this album is weird and proggy. Is that so? It is proggy in a Voivod-ish way. It's heavy but I won't call it metal.
