I think it sounds great, but I get the feeling I'm a pretty easy sell when it comes to Metallica.

^ Agree with Duncan on Portals. I was surprised at how good it is.

Yeah I like that Portals album a lot. Not feelin' this latest Metallica song. I liked Lux Aeterna, but not interested in the album to be honest.

Hows about a little sci-fi/stoner metal...

I heard "If Darkness Had A Son" again. Second spin. I like it more. Kirk plays a rare, pretty good solo.

Make that month+, or for a while. Busy times. Time to go from few posts to no posts, for some time. Not that this was a crucial update, but there it is, thanks for putting up with it :-)

Rolling Stone made a Top 100 Metal songs. Not "Hard Rock and (Heavy) Metal" songs.

    https://www.rollingstone.com/music/m...om-1234689027/

At least 1/4 or more aren't really even Metal songs (or even bands/artists who have ever done anything "Metal").

But it's Rolling Stone, so go figure.

What? Nothing from Jethro Tull's Grammy-winning Heavy Metal album Crest Of A Knave?

There's a lot of wrong on that list but I can't fault them for their number one pick

King Crimson? I wonder what Fripp would say?

    Warlock fine
    Accept fine
    Rammstein fine

Haven't seen the list but consider it's in Rolling Stone. Not worth the wood it's printed on

That was fun. A bit knuckleheaded, but loads of fun. I think I'll go into the Holocaust rabbit hole

I'm three songs into an album called Hypnosis Of Birds by Holocaust. I'd read a comment on YT that this album is weird and proggy. Is that so? It is proggy in a Voivod-ish way. It's heavy but I won't call it metal.
