    Robert Wyatt suffering memory loss

    https://www.nme.com/news/music/rober...-after-3583971

Quotes Sam Wyatt: "Towards the end of last year Robert’s recent memory loss was diagnosed as being progressive.

"He is also physically very frail and no longer able to reply to messages and letters or listen to other people’s music and comment on it. He has very much appreciated all he’s received in the past, and is very moved by people’s loyalty and concern for him over the years."

    Sad news.

I'm so sorry to hear it.

awful news - I'm only a casual Wyatt fan but have always thought of him as a warm and genuine soul. someone who makes me proud to be human. I've only heard nice things about him. I hope he's being cared for properly.

He is. His son (who wrote the text quoted in the OP) is a nurse.

Please don't ask questions, just use google.

Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.

Very sad news. We are not getting any younger, but still it is sad to learn about Robert's health condition.

Robert's sincerely singular music will endure. Nothing else sounds anything like it, not even faintly. I'm saddened to learn of his state, although not too surprised; after all the man has outlived the finest of his own generation. But then again he was himself among the finest.

Rock bottom is one of my favorite albums of all time. Top 5 for sure.
I am very sad to hear about his fragile health. Its unfortunately one of the harsh realities of the final stages of life. I am experiencing the same with my own parents at the moment. I am sure Robert is in good hands.

Agreed about Rock Bottom, THAT is a true masterpiece imo. I'm sorry to hear about Robert and sorry to hear about your folks - my mother-in-law is also in a terribly sad state. It is having a profound affect on my wife and her brother. I guess I've learned that the folks who have a nice or pleasant "coda" are the lucky ones, at least at the end.

Rock Bottom is my all-time No. 1. I'm glad and grateful I am living in the same world with Robert Wyatt.

Poor Robert and so hard for his family. I’ve been through this with my own mother and my ex-wife’s father, both bright minds that gradually dimmed, it’s never easy. I do love Robert’s music and he has given us plenty to keep us remind ed of his genius.m
