I listened a lot to South American Rock after having watched for the 4th time the great documentary Rompan Todo...this time I stopped and noted the name of the bands and artists and then checked out their discography...up from the 90s there were a lot of gifted female musicians appearing and right now among my favorites are 3 Mexican singer/songwriters: Julieta Venegas, Ely Guerra and Juana Molina...all 3 quiet different...Venegas the most traditional, Molina the most experimental and Guerra somewhere in the middle...her arrangements are centered often around a great spaced out guitar sound....
