    Hello dear Friends!.
I´ve been digging and having a good time with the following records ... maybe of your interest:

    - Trio HLK - Standard Time - (2018) .
"Trio HLK's debut album reworks well-known standards, drawing on techniques from Contemporary Classical composition, weaving familiar fragments into complex, intricate new pieces." ... a good exercise IMO!.

    More info.:
    https://triohlk.bandcamp.com
    http://www.triohlk.com/about.php

    - Ingrid Laubrock - Contemporary Chaos Practices - Two Works For Orchestra With Soloists (2018) .
    Mary Halvorson: Guitar
    Kris Davis: Piano
    Nate Wooley: Trumpet
    Ingrid Laubrock: Saxophone.

"It features a cast of 45 musicians, 8 singers and soloists Mary Halvorson, Kris Davis, Nate Wooley and myself. Two conductors alternate. Eric Wubbels conducts the through composed bulk of the music and Taylor Ho Bynum shapes some of the orchestral backgrounds played behind the soloists spontaneously with specified hand signals." (http://ingridlaubrock.com/ingrid-lau...practices.html)

    "Heaven" IMO!.

    More info.:
    https://laubrock-intakt.bandcamp.com...-with-soloists

    - Some goodies from Argentina:

    . Juan Bayón - Vidas Simples - (2018) .
"Vidas Simples" is simply one or the best album 2018 from the fertile Argentine jazz scene IMHO!.

    More info.:
    https://juanbayon.bandcamp.com/album/vidas-simples

    . Paula Shocron - Los Vínculos - (2018) .
This is nothing but an excellent work by this argentinian pianist: "the album is a dialog with a practice tape of a young Shocron playing J.S. Bach's Goldberg Variations. In a literal way, Shocron is playing with her past as she adds new layers of music to a classical foundation based on her own youthful interpretation of Bach. It is a meeting between the beauty of classical formalism and free music, but also an encounter between songs of innocence and experience." All About Jazz.

    . BUMA Trío - Iscaro / Chayle / Valotta - (2018) .
"Instrumental Jazz Fusion with contemporary characteristics".

    "Chaussong"

There is a new posthumous release coming called Lost & Found, with a long (20 or 28 minutes) version of Phalène expected within weeks (or so they say, but it's been pushed back a couple of times already) from blue Note

Something old by worth while checking out if you've never heard of it. I pulled this album out this past week for the first time in many years and liked it now just as much as when I bought it. This is the 2nd movement.

Hola Trane, let´s hope so my good friend!.
And thanks for the H.U.! (WoW!):

    - Ill Considered:
"Albums 5 and 6 clearly demonstrate the development of the band’s sound and the interaction between the players. Taking only a few sketches of tunes into the studio over a two day period, the albums are still largely fully improvised. Some concise and well-defined hooky groove-based melodies are here, nestled beside rich, dark textural pieces that draw the listener in and propel them through this unique musical journey."

    ///////////////////// ////////////////////

    I´ve been digging:

    . Rymden - Reflections & Odysseys (2019).
    https://rymden3.bandcamp.com/album/r...s-and-odysseys

    - Recommended -
    Super group! (piano trio):

"RYMDEN – The new super group of three major minds in European music history.
The music of RYMDEN is based on 3 elements: melancholic & atmospheric songwriting, dramatically charged rhythms & virtuosity of jazz playing of the highest level.
In this new band formation, the influences of modern jazz, Bach, film music and progressive rock music are clearly audible."

    released February 8, 2019

Bugge Wesseltoft : Piano & Rhodes
    Magnus Öström: Drums & Percussion
    Dan Berglund: Bass

    . Nate Wooley - Columbia Icefield (2019).
    (A complete Journey!)
    https://natewooley.bandcamp.com

    Nate Wooley – trumpet
    Mary Halvorson – guitar
    Susan Alcorn – pedal steel
    Ryan Sawyer – drums

    More:
    http://natewooley.com/columbia-icefield.html

. The Way Ahead - Bells, Ghots and Other Saints. (2019) **** (Uncle Steve has it!)
    https://cleanfeed-records.com/produc...-other-saints/

"The title says it all: here is music conceived under the influence of Albert Ayler, author of seminal free jazz pieces like “Bells” and “Ghosts” and one of the most celebrated interpreters of a gospel hymn specially cared by the likes of Louis Armstrong and Fats Domino, “When the Saints Go Marching In”. The name of the band (The Way Ahead) has the same referential weight: the way to go is in front of us, and you’ll find it while walking, as the poet (Federico Garcia Lorca) wrote."

    Finally, I´m looking for:
    - Wadada Leo Smith - Rosa Parks – Oratorio of Seven Songs. (Great expectations !)
    - Moppa Elliott - Jazz Band/Rock Band/Dance Band: don't know what to expect :-)

    Regards!.

Old recording, but someone out there might dig my brother-in-law's bag. He usually works with a sextet, and writes some pretty out stuff. I'd pick this one for the PE contingent to start with - be sure and get past the piano intro (although I totally dig Randy Porter's playing). :

Canadian jazz guitar player Ed Bickert passed away last Thursday, February 28th. He was a beautiful player who should've gotten more recognition as one of the greats. R.I.P. Ed.
