Looked at my schedule.
I am conflicted. Why must I compromise?
Let the wailing and gnashing of teeth begin.

Not thrilled with the Nils Frahm and Makaya McCraven conflict. Other than that schedule is working out ok. Thankful Harold Budd is playing multiple sets.
Coming up on a 'month' to go. Mmmmmm.

Gotta start playing with my schedule to see how it looks.

This Is Not This Heat have announced that they are playing their last-ever show in the UK in May and that's that.
SO...really excited with extra sauce I will get to see them.

But all else will work out fine.

The last time I drove down on Thursday I was so burned out. I got there in time, but the evening was tough towards the end.

I am seeing Massive Attack in DC Wednesday night, then hoofing it down to Knoxville as early as possible on Thursday. Probably won't be out super late Thursday night ;-)
BTW, Ian,
I just saw Columbia Icefield in DC last week:
It was very very good and also pretty damn weird. Jazz musicians NOT playing jazz. Came across more like contemporary composition and almost sound-design like at times.
If you're in the mood for it, it's pretty great and might make your list of must-sees. John may feel the same way if he has time.
and Fire! is in DC on 3/26, so I will probably see them then.....

I flew the last couple of years, mostly because my 20yr old car was not suitable for the excursion.
The first time my muffler fell off outside of Bristol.
This year a new car will get me there in relative comfort for a few hundred dollars less .
The non-stop flight from National is a treat though. I got home on Monday by 10:30am.
The drive back Monday is going to be tough.

Hello Steve!.
"Columbia Icefield" ... Nate Wooley´s new quartet? ... WoW!; last night I was recommending it at the Jazz discussion thread: it´s a great effort as "Argonautica" IMO!.
Finally,
I wish you all an excellent week, take care, have a good time and we'll wait for your comments!!.

I saw that he was coming! If I'm not acting as DD for a group of Irish-friendly folks, I might just make it up to Rhizome for that too

I wish they'd make a DVD of some of this music. They could probably come up with two or three DVDs worth this year.
