Miriodor & Cheer-Accident New Releases available on Wayside

Seeing as Steve doesn't seem to have posted I'll jump in. Just order the new C-A & Miriodor, available a full 4 weeks before the rest of the world at Wayside.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

Hopefully, it will show up on bandcamp shortly. If not, I'll just have to wait it out!

The stuff that was released in February is now up on bandcamp so if you're prepared to wait some time after the official release date I'm sure they'll be up. Personally I want these two now so ordered to CD's.

They'll be up on bandcamp ON their official street date, which is May 12.
We don't do the 'early' thing for digital; only physical.

    Thanks for the interest.

A great quote from Thymme Jones within Steve's write-up: "I like music that asks questions, rather than just feeding people predigested styles like it was created in a lab."

No time like the present...both bought, along with a couple of other items to keep them from getting lonely in the packing box
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

I did the same thing, added Thumbscrew & Peter Baumann. The Miriodor & C-A have a special place in my heart, I bought Avanti! and Fear Draws Misfortune when they came out at the same time and they kicked off my rediscovery of all things avant.

Completely fair. I look forward to both of these, greatly!

And here I am having already spent two K on eleven copies of that quadruple Abadabakadabra Genesis reissue - oh, no!

Well, I guess I could return one and afford half a Cheerio'dor download.

Didn't realize there was a new Miriodor album coming out. Nice!

Anything from Miriodir is a must own for me. I don't know what it is about them, but I just connect with their music. Yeah!

Chiming in to say that both of these arrived today and Miriodor got the honor of being played first (not gotten to the C-A yet). Great compositions and fantastic production make this a worthy addition to their catalog I believe. Thank you M and thank you Steve for releasing it! Highly recommended.

Mine as well. I'm really looking forward to spinning both of these.

What's a good starting place with these guys? I want to dive in, but it's a bit intimidating to a newcomer. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Personally I'd recommend Fear Draws Misfortune for Cheer-Accident though I know Steve F would go with Introducing Lemons. For Miriodor I'd go with Avanti!. Cheer-Accident are really all over the map stylistically so its tough to recommend my personal favorites are:-

    Fear Draws Misfortune
    Introducing Lemons
    Enduring The American Dream
    No Ifs Ands Of Dogs

    For Miriodor I'd go:-

    Avanti!
    Jongleries Elastique
    Mekano
    Cobra Fakir
    Parade

Much appreciated, Ian. I'm off to investigate.

Arguably on my very own top-10 list from the past 15 years. One of the absolute best "modern" releases by Cuneiform, snubbed the prize by Time of Orchids' Namesake Caution. Without these two, I'd be considerably less enthusiastic about the prospects of 'progressive rock' as a happening currency.

No, not necessarily and definitely not for readers of this site.

"Fear" is the place to start (just like in real life!)

Lemon. It's being used as introducing the flavor, lemon. It is not a presentation to a stranger of a bag of citrus fruit.

    just sayin'.

So I now realize that I already have 6 of the 7 tracks on Putting Off Death that I got from the C-A subscription service before canceling it. Somehow they seem better in the context of an album rather than individual tracks gathered over a period of time with no connection. I'm sure I'll listen to them a lot more in the album version.
