Seeking band name for the song "Going Home" (Sounds like CSN)

Don't ya just hate when you don't take the time to jot down the full name of a band when you hear a cool tune on the radio? I DO!!

I have tried Googling a dozen different combos and I have sent an email to XM's Deep Tracks but I have never had a reply yet from an email to them.

The song was "Going Home" and the band name was two last names separated by "and." The first name started with a "B." So it was "B------ and --------."

The song REALLY sounded like Crosby, Stills and Nash. It had lots of acoustic guitar in that "bright" CSN style and a bass line that sounded like Stills' playing. I did vaguely recognize the melody and the chorus but I just cannot find the right tune. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

The first B____ and ____ that comes to mind is Brewer and Shipley. You may want to start your search there.

Can you remember any of the lyrics? The chorus?
Music isn't about chops, or even about talent - it's about sound and the way that sound communicates to people. Mike Keneally

No, I am a big B and S fan. But not them. Thanks so much though!

And Scott, in the small section of the tune that I heard, there were precious few lyrics. It was "Going home" and then I think something like "I've waited my entire life for this..." or something to that effect.

    Thanks, rcarlberg. But no.
As I said, it was two last names with "and" in the middle. First name starts with "B"
I had the darn thing in front of my face; normally I can easily remember a title and artist but focused more on my driving than the artist name.
(I am a pretty good "Googler" but you cannot believe how many "Going Home" song titles there are! Methinks this band is fairly obscure.)

    FrippWire!

I love your name and I love your brain!
That is it! Leave it to me to get the title wrong because I focused on the band name. "Home Again" is the correct title, not "Going Home." I apologize for the unintentional misdirection there. (And I apologize for making some of you getting the "I'm Goin' Home" Albert Lee ear worm!

So for anyone who is interested, please have a listen and discuss!

The song is from 1971 by the way.

Thanks to everyone! I hope some of you like the tune.

    Lyrics:

    Home Again
    by Batdorf and Rodney

Opened up the day life found me,
    Sitting underneath an old tree,
Clearing up what once was cloudy,
Knowing most of all I'm happy.

All my life, I've waited for this day,
    I am home again.
All my life, you helped me find the way,
    I am home again.

    Have a new direction facing,
Now I'm sought instead of chasing.
Time to slow down, no more racing,
Spend some life at home embracing.

All my life, I've waited for this day,
    I am home again.
All my life, you helped me find the way,
    I am home again.

Nothing in the air but singing,
    Music plays in harmony,
    Everything around is ringing,
    Happiness at last found me.
    Happiness at last found me.
    Happiness at last found me.

All my life, I've waited for this day,
    I am home again.
All my life, you helped me find the way,
    I am home again.

I work in a record store and have done so for many years. I'm always trying to figure out what it is our customers are looking for with only the slimmest of clues to go on. Glad I could help.

Oh, and my handle comes from combing two of my favorite artists; Robert Fripp and Wire. And it kinda sounds like tripwire.

I was thinking Seals and Crofts but that's the wrong initials.

Yes, like many, Seals and Crofts has a hefty influence of CSN.

I read up on the B & R band and Batdorf's projects after the band. Interesting stuff.

Not to mention that Fripp played on "And Through the Wire."

    Such a great Gabriel tune.
Fripp's touch was so perfect for all those Gabriel tunes he played on.

I am a big Fripp fan.
I loved when his solo album "Exposure" was re-released with all the extras and alternative tracks.

That's cool. I always got the "tripwire" pun, but I never realized that the Wire part referred to the band.

In the "Giving Credit Where Credit is Due" file, I was very impressed just now that Brian Beddow of XM Deep Tracks just replied to my email with the info on the tune.

    Kudos!!

I was knocked out by the obvious CSN influence.
The acoustic guitars are so "Stills-y" and the bass playing also sounds like "The Octopus."

Mr. B does acknowledge the influence.

And yes, I did order the CD!

I don't know who the OP is talking about, but I prefer this Goin' Home...

I've always been very fond of the Rolling Stones' "Goin' Home"...on the American LP configuration of Aftermath, where it is the last track on the album, as is right and proper.

Thanks. I found that record in a dollar bin ages ago, and have never seen another copy. Apparently they have two other LPs.
