He also did a great cover of Stevie Wonder's "They Won't Go When I Go" on LwoP. No denying the man had a great voice.

Eric: "What the hell Hutch, it's all Rush, what if we wanted a little variety?"

Hutch: "Rush is variety, Bitch! Rule number one: in my van, its Rush! All Rush, all the time...no exceptions."

    From "Fanboys" 2009.

i really wasn't a fan, but i thought his performance with Queen at the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert was great.
although i don't think ANYONE could have replaced Freddie Mercury in Queen, George Michael could have been a contender.

Pretty much know all of his music due to my mum and sister being big fans...and weirdly happened to drive past his house on Xmas day before knowing the news as he lives nearby. First ever song I heard on a Sony Walkman was Everything She Wants by Wham...I remember standing outside and my sister but the headphones on, and it blew my tiny 8 year old mind

"Freedom" the documentary coming in March to the BBC and Showtime in the States

    http://www.factmag.com/2016/12/27/ge...m-documentary/

Michael was making Freedom in conjunction with Channel 4, to be released alongside a reissue of the 1990 album. The film will reportedly focus on the late artist’s career, rather than his personal life, and features interviews with Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett, James Corden, Ricky Gervais and more. It has been narrated by Michael himself.
unreleased song with Elton that his boyfriend Fadi shared (and has since been deleted?)

Also there's reportedly enough material for 3 more studio records potentially to come out.

dude absolutely should've fronted Queen. oh well.

really sad to see him go. agree that Faith is just as good as the better Prince records, and I dig Wham!, so what. heard a lot of stories about him being an incredibly generous person though he never wanted that side of him too public.

Not sure he would have been all that comfy with songs like "Hammer to Fall," but for 75% of it, sure.

Nice package and some good content. I'm going to spend the weekend with this and also revisit the Purple Rain deluxe set. Some excellent reissues have come out and are coming out from some of my favorite artists!

I admit to avoiding this thread as I was sort of an anti-fan; and thought it best to apply the “if you can’t say anything nice...” principle.

Then I remembered “A Different Corner,” his solo debut. A phenomenal song which casts a heavy shadow on the rest of his career. Why does nobody talk about it anymore?

Obviously his music wasn't my cup of tea but I'll never deny that he had a helluva voice and a way with writing a hook. I wish I had Showtime, that trailer makes the doc look very entertaining.

I see that there is a cheaper 2 disc version of LWP and a big box set version. If anyone buys them and listens to them, please compare the two.

I saw this thread pop up again and I thought he died again. That would be horrible to go through death twice. RIP George you were way too young to go.

And in other news, Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.
