New White Willow album, Future Hopes coming out in February 2017!!!

    Hey hey,

So Im slightly surprised this hasnt surfaced here earlier but here it is...

Norwegian brainchild of Jacob Holm-Lupo White Willow will be releasing their seventh album called Future Hopes in February 2017 on Lasers Edge.

Its a sort of loosely held together science fiction concept album.

Without going all Mike Portnoy...It sounds amazing. Jacob has outdone himself productionwise.

Im playing drums and percussion and splashes of odd sounds here and there.

    More info here....

...oh yeah and the cover is pretty spectacular...too!

Mattias - Jacob did post about this.

Never can hear too much about a good thing, however.

I know I definitely want to see this. Or at least the tattoos and bandana-hair part (the balls out part is permanently burned into what's left of my eyes....)

Should this thread be moved to the What's On, What's New page, like my Magenta thread was? I of course have no connection with Magenta or their label, unlike the OK of this thread.

Ok, it's equally on par with the greatest album you have ever heard. Jeff Buckleys grace? You bet! Dark side of the moon? Absolutely! This album is an emotional roller coaster ride that will leave you breathless. I cried during the drum sessions because of the naked raw emotions that washed over me. It is epic in its multilayered sonic tapestry yet personal and sensual. It will make you feel AND think. It reaches in and touches you in places you didn't know about. Calling it an album is too small of a word. It's a revelation, a lifechanging experience of unparalleled beauty and emotion.

This is the last album you will ever have to get.

    Enough Portnoy?

    That was quite good.

Maybe he needs a ghost writer?

Just curious ... but why? IMHO that haven't put a foot wrong with any of their albums and have always changed things up a bit to keep it fresh.

I hope it includes the cover of the Scorpion's "Animal Magnetism" that was on their website recently. Awesome version.

I completely agree. The last two albums, in particular, have been extremely strong efforts!

Didn't care for the vocals. But I've always enjoyed the music.

    No Portnoy, no White Willow.

Great news! Got into Opium Cartel and later into some WW, always interested in whatever Jacob does and this is no exception.

I heard they are too high maintenance and can contribute to delusions of grandeur.

I have purchased all the WW albums, and the Opium Cartel, and the last WW was my favorite, so this is a no brainer for me
