Somehow I never gave up hope that PQ would find an obscure channel to release those Octobre records, but alas...
The American Maelstrom were well named, man they could shred with the best of them. I'll check out the Canadian band later, thanks!

Should this thread be moved to the What's On, What's New page, like my Magenta thread was? I of course have no connection with Magenta or their label, unlike the OK of this thread.

Just want to be clear, nobody posting here has any connection to ProgQuebec. I don't want to get into any moderation politics, but to me this topic is equivalent to the one on the Sea Nymphs or any number of others that occur here. In addition this is a band that nobody here knew the existence of before the thread, so it would be impossible to discuss them at all without indicating that there is a new release from them.

I question whether things that are really, really obscure should have a bit of leeway if mentioning them can be seen through a lens of educating the community that they even exist. For example did you guys know that both Lightdreams albums just got reissued, including a cassette-only one that I didn't know existed until two months ago? Should that go into a promotional sub-forum?

None of this is a knock on Magenta, who we were proud to host at FMPM in 2009.

most likely, I would've missed this thread had it been on the What's New forum

    My point exactly!

I have never heard of this band, but with all of the excitement brewing about this uncovered prog gem from 40 years ago and the great promotional email from Prog Quebec, I just had to buy it!

Got my copy yesterday and I am spinning it for the first time. On the initial impressions, I am inclined to place this album amongst the best stuff that came out in Quebec.

Ordered a few things from ProgQuebec today.... this link has reminded me that they have a bunch of really good stuff that I don't own that I should. Maybe this will inspire others to make a purchase or two and keep this concern alive! :-)

My copy arrived today. Case was smashed to bits and the disc has a nearly 1/8" crack on the rim outside the playing surface. Don't know if it will play properly or not.

^ Hugues, what exact type of prog is it? This is extremely important for me to know before eventually investing in a copy. Is it borderline prog, excessive prog or regressive prog?

I'll let you propose the new "Fake Prog" subgenre in PA

I only know it doesn't *GET* more genuine than this (just don't tell Rufus):
