Nice interview.
I hope the tour is successful for them.
Jon equated The Buggles with Mickey Mouse. Damn, he quit Yes back then, not the other way around!!!
The Prog Corner
Nice interview---agree with him about the current state of Yes----not inspired. But hope he and Steve kiss and make up someday.
Well,, it shoots down the possibility of most BG tracks that have been floated...
Will you do anything off Big Generator? I've always felt that album is underappreciated.
"Rhythm of Love." That was the last thing we rehearsed. We tried another couple of songs from the same album. We got halfway through them and were like, "Uhhhh ... No. Doesn't work." And then Trevor started playing the chords to "Rhythm of Love" and I said, "That's the one." So we're going to do that.
Goodbye Shoot High, Aim Low.
He was wanting to do it too.... Oh well, it'll still be a great show.
Love YesWest. "Meh" on BG.
Music isn't about chops, or even about talent - it's about sound and the way that sound communicates to people. Mike Keneally
too bad about big generator I was hoping for something rarer form that one I'm running is my favorite there. glad a few songs form talk are still on the table though it is my fav of the rabin albums.
I m sure I m in the minority here but preferred Love Will Find A Way to Owner of a Lonely Heart. Great anthemic riff and chorus
I found it interesting they are doing AWAKEN. And we have a video of Rick rehearsing Close To The Edge. Are they really doing both?
He said in the vid that they aren't doing CTTE. He sort of mumbled though. I think he just used it to show off the pipe organ patch.
It wouldn't surprise me, but that's no deal breaker.
And I usually hate when people do that....
Yeah, it is what it is, given what Jon's been through over recent years. I hope this tour does well for them.
"So many bands are out there playing Yes music, and Steve's band is one of them."- JA
I guess I'm in the minority in that I really like BG(always have and always will). There's a certain vibe on it that you don't get on 90125 and in my opinion it's more of a true Yes album. I guess to each their own though. It's too bad they won't be playing much from it. I don't dislike 90125(I actually think it's a very enjoyable aorish with some proggy elements kind of album) but if they didn't play anything from it(which of course is not likely)I would not be disappointed.
Jon about Bill Bruford:
"The last album he made with Earthworks was ridiculous – I loved it. One side was ridiculously good. The other side he obviously made to try and get some radio play or something. One side was really good and I thought, "Bill, man, that's incredible.""
Does anybody have an idea what he is talking about?

Interesting. Over at Yes on FB people are calling this interview a crock and that Jon has a really selective memory and should be grateful Steve carried on all these years.
