Why is it some images post and some don't?

I just tried to post an image in one of the groups using the

It seems like sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

Or why is it that in groups, you can't upload a picture from your computer? (doesn't give you the option to do so, only url is possible)

Do you mean the image is displayed as a white box, or a tiny red "x" in a tiny box? If that's what you're referring to I think it might be the URL/website you're linking the picture from. On some sites you have to be a registered user to see the content, so if you link to it here no one can see the image (unless people here are registered and logged in to that site). Well, I think that's how it works. I had that issue one time and that's what it was. I was linking to a site with pictures that was a fan forum like this one, but the images couldn't be seen here at PE unless people were logged in to the other forum. Not sure any o' that made sense but ...... what evah .

Some sites also prevent hotlinking
“Pleasure and pain can be experienced simultaneously,” she said, gently massaging my back as we listened to her Coldplay CD.
