    Damn.
Yep.. I leave my house at 6:20AM to be at work for 7:45AM. I then leave work at 5:00PM to be home for around 6:30PM. I have gotten to the point where I can no longer sleep in late or stay up late on the weekends because I am so conditioned. It's a good thing I love mornings...

I thought Saturday night game (Dolphins/Jets) was a typo or I misheard something. Ok Sat. night sounds fine. I'd prefer NFL on Saturdays instead of Thursday.

I'm up every morning at 4:30, even on days off sometimes. I start work at 7am but I like to take my time with my coffee while on the throne......lol.

Having worked white collar both in Manhattan and many other places around the country, the average office start time in NYC is "workin' 9 to 5". Not so in most other places, where hours like 7-3:30, for example are common both in the private & public sectors. If you have other things on your early morning agenda (exercise, kids, showering etc.), rising at 5:00 is not abnormally early at all. Many people in CA need to be at their desks at 6:00am to take calls from people in NY at 9:00am for instance.

I retired from a middle management public sector "suit" career and unless I was traveling, my normal office hours were 7:30-4:00 and I woke up M-F at 5:30am. I come by my well-earned sloth & indolence in retirement honestly.

The general consensus anywhere but NYC & LA (even in Chicago most offices start before 9:00am) wouldn't be that 5:00 is abnormally early imo.

You did say "I think" and not "I know". Good for you.

The game was so one-sided. I was just having some fun with your use of the term "enjoy".

This year almost the whole Week 16 schedule is on Saturday, Christmas Eve. The Jets are getting 2 Saturdays in a row.

Saturday Night is Hockey Night In Canada. I will not be seeing much of this heavyweight bout between the 'Fins and Jets...

OK. Well, I get up around 7:30.

I go to bed usually around 1:30-2:30.

On weekends I go to bed around 3:00 and sleep until 12:00 - 1:00, unless I have to do something in the morning, which is usually not the case.

Luckily (or perhaps not luckily), my wife is even worse than I am with her preponderance toward being nocturnal.

That's pretty much a state religious service, isn't it?

I work at home now and I'm usually up and about around 7:30-8:00. I used to be able to sleep in when I was young man but years of slaving in the cubicle farms robbed me of that. I did ten years at one company that was very "morning" oriented. Lots of useless meetings at 8:00 am. Fuckers. When I worked at a legal publishing company you set your own hours. The rule was, you had to be in for the core hours which varied by department. I know folks that would come in very early and be out the door by three and others that came in late and worked until six or seven pm. That was heaven.

Back when I worked days I had to be in at 5:30AM. I had it timed so my alarm would go off at 4:45AM I would jump in the shower and could get there on time. But…..that was way too early for me and I had all kinds of problems with insomnia. I moved to 3rd shift for 8 years in order to take a promotion and moved to 2nd shift a few years ago which I absolutely love. Getting up early for me now is 9AM and I typically don’t go to bed until 2AM-ish, but it fits my body clock. I do have times when I have to be in for meetings (every Thursday 7AM,) which throws me all off, but it is what it is.

Yikes. Makes me wonder how many actual blue collar members we have here. I'm up around 5am six months out of the year, 6am the rest, working out doors with periodic on-call weeks where I can be woke up any time of night.

I can barely stay up past 10:30pm anymore. Even on weekends I'm home by 7-8pm and snoring by 11pm. Just don't wanna be running the streets past 8-9pm. If Saturday's game isn't televised locally I'll have to miss it, or most of it. Not sure I wanna be at a bar around midnight.

I just started a job that has an hour commute from home, 40 minutes from the girlfriend's. I"m usually up around 5:30 (not that I"m happy about it). My official hours are 7:30-4:30, but I've been working 8-5 since I got here, a little over a month ago. Until someone says something, I'm not eager to get out of bed a half hour earlier.

I know it's an each his own thing but...I'll never understand how people can tolerate waking up so early on a regular basis. *shutters*

Very rarely do I go to sleep before 2. I own a small lawn/landscape biz and can't start due to town ordinances until earliest 8, but I don't roll out there until 9 or so...hey, as long as the work gets done! Most days I'm up around 7:30-8 as I need at least an hour and a half to coffee up and chill out on the bowl with the laptop... it's a ritual. Now that I'm packed up for the season, the only thing I have to focus on is snow and plowing driveways whenever Mother Nature decides. For that I'm usually out at the asscrack of dawn. No matter though as whatever I want to watch can be DVR'd.

School starts at 8. My report time is 7:30 but rarely do I arrive any later than 6:45. My alarm goes off at 5:15AM but I'm usually awake by then, typically by 4:45. The late football games aren't that bad...but the west coast hockey games? Murder, especially as a fan of a team in the western conference.
