"KTONIK", the new Votum album will be released on February 26th in Europe and North America through Inner Wound Recordings.
The album was mixed by David Castillo at Ghost Ward [Katatonia, Opeth, Bloodbath] and mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios [Paradise Lost, Kreator, Leprous].

VOTUM combines dark and vibrant atmosphere with metal traditions, bringing both force and ambience to play. The band is no stranger to musical diversity with subtle cinematic frailty and modern electronica. Dealing in powerful guitars and acoustic ballads VOTUM creates a very specific blend of fresh and unusual approach to progressive rock and metal.

I like Riverside but personally I prefer Votum. I think the direct comparisons to Riverside hurt them more than anything. guess I just don't hear the influences as much as some do. it seems like every new band from Poland gets the Riverside tag attached to it. Votum gets better with each release. definitely check em out.

I think they sound a lot like Riverside - which is a very good thing!!! Votum's last album, Harvest Moon, was really good so I am looking forward to this!

regardless of our differences in opinion, the review above sure sounds promising. I'm looking forward to grabbing this one. lot of competition from other Polish bands just in this genre. have you heard any Sandstone?
