Went to a beer tasting at the local liquor store (Kappy's in Medford) this past Saturday. They had many area brews (Slumbeer, Night Shift, Notch, Jack's Abbey, and a few others I had so many I can't remember), two local cideries (Down East and Bantam), Taza chocolate, which is made in the next town over (Somerville, the Slumbeer locale), and a food truck outside. Great time. Irish Whiskey tasting there this Saturday. This Italian boy will be there.

Looking forward to my day in court.

Just got my hands on some Limited Release by Long Trail called "Space Juice" which is a Double IPA at 8.7% and fits somewhere between Heady Topper and Sip of Sunshine.

I went to the KBS release party to get my fill for probably the year. It's darn impossible to find in SE Mich.

Hard to find here too and I live only 45 minutes from the brewery. There is a possibility I may be up at Founders this weekend. If so, I am hoping that they at least still have it on tap.

2 weeks in the bottle now and my homebrew Belgian Triple is blending nicely. When first bottled I thought I brewed up some awful crap. It was both overly sweet and bitey from the extra hops I added. After a week it began to blend but each was still pretty distinct on the tongue. Now, 2 weeks in and I've got what I was hoping for, a bit of extra hops to offset the sweetness, the result being a nice blend on the tongue with a smooth finish and a yeasty head. I'm sure it is just going to get better from here. Just in time for St Patricks day!

Most surprisingly, found two bottles in Ann Arbor. $7 each.

Lately I've been partial to James E. Pepper 1776 American Brown Ale, aged in whisky barrels. I would definitely recommend it if you like brown ale and whisky.

I had coffee, bought from Costco, that was infused somehow with flavor from bourbon barrels. Pretty damn good, strong Vanilla notes.

Yea, Mike is the one who first turned me on to KBS, so I had to rub it in a bit.
