Probably a better value and more enjoyable than a 15th row concert seat that cost the same amount.
Nice to see the vinyl offering showing that analog releases trump the digital releases. The digital stuff is worthless to me anyway.
Not for everyone, but a true Floyd - Waters fan will enjoy this release I would think.
That's reading like nazi vinyl crapola...
Though I suspect only vinyl addicts would actually be interested in this umpteenth milking product, anyways..; Though the fake concrete cover could be hard to melt down and shoot intravenously for vinyl-junkies
I'll probably go for the recent DVD/film, but pass on this kind of stuff
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
Roger Waters is an oldies act. Recycler extraordinaire.
When you consider I just paid $699 for the 80 disc Grateful Dead 30 Trips Around the Sun box...a solid' hardwood box, with a nearly 300-page book bound in leather....well, $500 for this seems like an outrageous ripoff...as all of Floyd's big boxes have been.
Crimson, too, gives you reap value for your money...but these sets with a few discs and arty book selling for that kind of money? Yeah. Heck, Steven Wilson's deluxe hardcover editions are drop-dead gorgeous and go for well under $100 (when in print).
So this? An outrageous money grab, IMO.
Technically, and assuming that you didn't snag a special edition, that box isn't solid hardwood and the book isn't actually bound in leather, but I'll agree with you that this Wall thing isn't going to stand comparison with sets like 30 Trips or the new 18-disc Dylan set ... and both of those sets were considered to lie at the top end of pricing for this market.
...and at a time of your choosing, Roger Waters will come to your door and spit on you.
Even if I MIGHT have been interested in this, I lost all interest when I saw it had four vinyl disks. I have zero use for those. Really, The Wall concert just wasn't THAT special.
I suppose that Roger Waters The Wall: Bend Over And Think Of England edition didn't have the same ring to it.
I'm going to buy two!
Let me put off that pesky feeding the family crap for a while... jeesh.
From Facebook:
How many of you have had the chance to spend a bit of time chatting with Eddie Jobson either before or after one of his performances? Maybe you asked him about how he obtained a certain sound in a favorite song, or you told him about your first concert was UK back in the day; and you came away from the exchange feeling completely jazzed that EJ was so friendly and engaging. Or, possibly you’ve not had the opportunity to attend one of his concerts or meet-and-greets over the past 6+ years since he has returned to the stage, but you’ve read about others’ accounts, and wished that you could spend some time chatting with him. Now is your chance. For the first time, or a redux meet. Through the Z-Funder ‘Diamond’ option, you can arrange to receive a music lesson from Eddie, or discuss physics, theory, history … or any other aspect of music. Can’t you just imagine Eddie Jobson sitting on your couch chatting with you, your band or other group of friends?! It can certainly happen, but this pledge level will only be available through this Saturday (October 31, 2015). After that, this will never be offered again. Ever.

FYI - Asking price is $5K. Imagine what Roger would charge...
-=Will you stand by me against the cold night, or are you afraid of the ice?=-
Ironically, you could do that on CttE for free as long as your timing was good.
The Zealot lounge is basically just a bed and a pile of porn.
If you ever needed evidence that Waters is bankrupt, musically as well as financially....
Although...
If the photo is accurate, one of the two placeholder 'art prints' is a photo of Roger playing trumpet. Mmmm, yummy.Once ordered, customers will receive a special hard cover "Save the Date" folio that contains 2 art prints. Folio will be shipped in November, perfect for holiday gifting.

I just want the show on video and maybe the audio version of same. Don't need the bells and whistles especially for a rerecording of an old record.
"It was a cruel song, but fair."-Roger Waters
I'm saving my money for the special collector edition "The Last Few Bricks" which will feature the actual bricks from the actual live show, signed by RW himself.
The next thing that would amaze me would be a real new album with an attention to music and arrangements, and actual singing from Roger. One can dream.
well, after saving Floyd from bankruptcy in the late 70's, Waters missed the second Floyd financial outburst when their late 80's and 90's tours grossed in zillions, and the public bought those crappy Waters-less Floyd albums like there would be no tomorrow...
so I'd suspect Waters not to be as nearly filthy rich as the other three... and therefore needing to milk the Wall cow to the last drop.
