A New Era in Band Merch!

Went to see Paal Nilssen-Love's Large Unit at the jazz festival last night and was checking out the merch table afterwards. Along with the usual CDs, LPs, and T-Shirts was a first - official band underwear!

Because who wouldn't want to wear briefs with the words "Large Unit" prominently stamped across the croch?

When I saw Hall & Oates a few years ago, they were selling "Maneater" thongs.

I remember seeing a thong at the merch stand for Strapping Young Lad back when they were still going. Nonetheless, it's definitely a niche begging to be further explored.

And now I am reminded of the Madison Panty-Sniffing Festival on YCDTOSA6.

It's a boon for musicians and they should take full advantage of the chance. They can sell them at one show, have them thrown on stage, then clean (if they desire) and resell them at another show.

To be uncharacteristically serious, thought it was pretty sweet that Big Big Train had their own beer. Since I'm overseas I haven't actually ordered any yet, but I'd probably really like it and have to keep ordering it and shipping it here to North America would get pretty spendy.

Those for whom it's obvious without having to call attention to it.

I'm suddenly reminded of a Zappa track, "Jazz Discharge Party Hats"

Don't kid yourself - they also sell underwear that says "Big Big Train."

Back when CafePress was the bizz-omb you could get thongs and stuff with your logo on it. Still can I suppose but I don't know if anyone uses them any more.

That's the one. Man From Utopia was the first Zappa album I ever heard.

Are those shorts tight enough to show off my moose knuckle, like on the album cover?
