Prog Ears introduced me to ...
... the surprising notion that, evidently, there is no music that is not "Prog." Who knew?

Oh, cum aaawwn! Do you honestly think Liberace or Michael Bolton with a bittu longer tunes and some 'tron (and a guest appearance by Jem Godfrey and produced by Stephe Nilsson) - if released by OutsideIn with a 'symbolic' cover donning some cycling transgender gnome approaching a distant apple sun in a desert also featuring a couch with a tv on it showing a microwave frying a container of glowing blackheads - wouldn't get reviewed in summadoze "prog" mags?

I think I saw that streaming porn video. Or maybe it was a pron video?

    I'd buy that record.

    You're assuming I have those.

Actually I'm sober just about every night (with the exception of prog festivals). However, PE did not introduce me to , the 60s did, which has always trumped alcohol for me.

    to name a few.

This forum also gave me a reason to revisit 70's Genesis, Brand X, and Marillion. As a teenager in the 80's, Genesis meant Phil Collins ballads, then I started listening to the 70s stuff and realized they were pretty good.

w/o PE I would never have heard of and investigated, for example, SGM, Stolen Babies, Faust, 5UUs, Univers Zero, Henry Cow, Big Big Train (& thus indirectly Mostly Autumn).

This is the best feature of PE for me. This place is great for band/album news and similar upcoming activities.

I must admit, I was introduced to prog several years before I found this site, so I was already familiar with a bunch of things. But the aforementioned news and updates helps keep me abreast of current/new albums, which is pretty helpful.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.
