Never paid attention to the soundtrack. Love music but when it comes to movie soundtracks never cared. The exception would be the soundtrack to A Hard Day's Night.

I, too, saw him in Equus. Waited with my buddy at the stage door until he came out to sign autographs for the fans. Nice man. Actually took the time to make conversation with us.

Someone had to post this... A sad loss but he lived such a prosperous life. R.I.P.

I always remember a conversation something along these lines between Spock and another crew member (let's say it was Bones, for argument's sake):

Spock: "Doctor, I apologise. I clearly overestimated your intelligence."

    Bones(after a moment's pause): "I think that's the most insulting apology i ever received."

I always enjoyed his appearance on the Simpsons, when the town put in the solar-powered monorail:

Nimoy was rushed to the hospital about a week-and-a-half ago after he passed out, but I guess he must have been sent home a few days later. He knew the end was coming.

Very sad news indeed...another giant icon gone. Did anyone ever see the 1965 Man from Uncle episode that has both William Shatner and Nimoy in it? I'm wondering if Gene Roddenberry saw this and said to himself, "Wow these two guys have some great chemistry together?" Nimoy plays a Russian spy in it! Classic 60's Spy-fi! No more Vulcan cliches, just SHALOM

    An icon.

The New York Times gave 20% of its front page to Nimoy's obit in todays paper. It continues for another 80% of a page in another section. In addition theres a very nice essay in the Art section. This type of space in this paper is usually reserved for heads of state and the very influential. Not that Nimoy needs validation , but this reflects the place of esteem he and his character held in the American consciousness. Its a small but heartening comfort to see my personal sense of loss echoed , not only by the usually staid NY Times but the fine people here .

    ....Vulcans don't bluff.....

No Mr. Spock, I suppose they don't .......

    Then Windom goes berserk.....

Thanks for that! And I forgot that Captain Klinck was in it too. another long gone fine actor. Seems Shatner drank too much Romulan Ale in this one!

And yes, I know what I did there. And George Takei said once that it should be considered a Trek movie.

    Wrath O' Khan
    Search For Spock
    Undiscovered Country
    Motion Picture
Voyage Home (good movie but I never cared for Trek when they time travel or the whole episode/film is on Earth)
Final Frontier (this was a real Turkey)

For the past couple of hours Shatner has been answering many fan questions about Nimoy on Shatner's Twitter feed. Some cool and interesting info coming from this.

    Different strokes.
I always liked the humor of it, poking fun at their characters. Star Trek is better when they don't take themselves too seriously -- TOS never did!

Yes it was humorous. The scene on the bus with that punk, knucklehead with the mohawk, playing loud punk rock Was hilarious. Then there's Spock mind-melding with a whale...... It was a corny film.

Dude, Spock mind-melded with a giant rock-eating lasagna in the original series. With the corn growing that high from the start, IV was just trying to live up to the name.

    A small legacy tangent...

Has anyone else seen Star Trek Continues?

It's a fan work, with only three episodes, but it is well funded, and they absolutely nailed the visual aesthetic of the original series.
