DISTRICT 97: "In Vaults" June 23rd

... Jonathan did post this info in another thread (and in the Kickstarter updates) but some people may have missed that one, and I know there are some big fans here:

Nine tracks, mixed by Rich Mouser:

    Snow Country

    Takeover

    Learn From Danny

    Death by 1000 Cuts

    Blinding Vision

    On Paper

    A Lottery

    Handlebars

    All's Well That Ends Well

Really excited for this album! A band's third can often be a real killer... this is definitely one of my most anticipated releases of the year. Terrific band, and if I ever win the lottery I am personally funding a proper tour!

In the meantime, I recommend the D97/Wetton collaborative live release One More Red Night for anyone who still doesn't have it. Tremendous. http://www.district97.net/store/one-...ng-john-wetton

... and loosely related, for anyone who didn't catch this, newly-engaged Leslie sang the U.S. national anthem at the Bulls game last night!

Interviewer of reprobate ne'er-do-well musicians of the long-haired rock n' roll persuasion at: www.velvetthunder.co.uk and former scribe at Classic Rock Society. Only vaguely aware of anything other than music.

I'm getting impatient...June is a long way away. Wasn't this originally supposed to be done in February or March? But since (if I recall correctly) they exceeded their funding goal they probably plowed that back into the recording process which changed the timeline. Pretty sure this is going to be well worth the wait.

I sure wish they would come to the West coast. A show at The Warfield in San Francisco would be ideal!!

I'd say autobuy, but as a supporter of their crowd funding I'll just wait until they send me my donation perk cd.

Nice to see some buzz about this happening already! We think you'll all be in for a treat ;-) Here's a taste of one of the songs:

And for anyone in the Chicago area, we'll be playing at Wire on Friday, 2/13 along with a couple fellow PEers. Details at: http://us9.campaign-archive2.com/?u=...&id=45f83e7985

It would be very nice indeed. I'm not holding my breath though.

Spent all my money on my own album so could not Kickstart this one, but it's an autobuy when the time comes. Love "Takeover"!

Us guys will need this album for some lonely wallow time now that Leslie is engaged, effectively putting the last nail in the coffin of our hearts.

I'm planning on being at the gig tonight. Sonus Umbra are also an excellent band. Not sure who the third one is. This reminds me that D97 were scheduled to play Rich and Val's house last summer

No worries! For anyone who'd still like to back the album, it's not too late. Although we exceeded our funding goal, the costs have piled up and we could definitely put any additional funds to good use. If people would still like to get involved, all of the Kickstarter rewards at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...d-studio-album are still available aside from the CDs signed by John Wetton. If you're interested, send me a PM or email to info@district97.net and we can get that squared away!

I can't make tonight, but unless the weather's bad, I do plan to be at Harding House on Sat the 21st for Val's birthday. I really wish tonight were doable, since I do know every member of Sonus well, and D97 doesn't consider me a stranger either. Sonus are indeed an excellent band!

Many people have contacted us saying they're sorry they missed out on our Kickstarter campaign, so we are reopening pledges for our new album at http://www.district97.net/store/last...-our-new-album through April 1st! This is the last chance to back the album), get your name in the liner notes, and all kinds of other cool stuff. If you already pledged during our Kickstarter last Fall, you can also upgrade to a higher pledge level. The first 5 people who pledge $50 or more will receive an exclusive District 97 magnet as a special bonus along with their pledge rewards, and there are only 3 left. Visit http://www.district97.net/store/last...-our-new-album to get all the info!

Really great new song, looking forward to the new album. And that version of the national anthem was really impressive, thanks for posting it progatron.

Congratulations to Leslie on her marriage and, wow, what a lovely rendition of the anthem there
And the code is a play, a play is a song, a song is a film, a film is a dance...

Just giving this a bump as we're in the home stretch of taking pledges at http://www.district97.net/store/last...-our-new-album. It's the last chance to get your name in the liner notes and other cool rewards.

Also, if you already backed the album at $50 or more, please make sure your name is listed at https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9H...ew?usp=sharing

    Thanks, everyone!
