Give me either a mystery, mindless action, spaceships, or elves fighting dragons.
I thought that Hill House was quite good. Definitely better than your average horror series.

We watched The Crowded Room, which was quite good and featured a tour-de-force performance from Tom Holland. Also, it has Amanda Seyfried, who makes me feel funny in the swimsuit area.

We just finished the original series the other night. Loved how it ended with Boyd and Raylen talking on the phone in the prison. "We dug coal together". Outstanding writing and acting. We are now 2 episodes inot "City Primeval". Not sure what to think of it yet. Won't be able to watch anymore until we are home from ProgDay next week.

Haunting of Hill House was great. I like a lot of what Mike Flanagan has done actually and am really looking forward to his latest series The Fall of the House of Usher

This looks really good. Already on my list, so thanks for the mini-review.

Started Ahsoka a couple days ago. Really good show, so far.

Also finally started Andor, yesterday. Another really good show, so far.

When you finish the last episode of Andor watch the credits, there's sort of an Easter Egg at the end of it. I think it's one of the better Star War series. I'm still watching The Mandalorian Season 2.

That was probably the best Easter egg I've ever seen.

As for the show, I found it more entertaining and interesting than any of the movies or the other series I've seen so far, which includes everything other than Obi-Wan.

Finished "Justified City Primeval" tonight. I agree with most of the comments on this thread that it was not at the level of the original series, although I did enjoy it. Totally dug the last 10 minutes. Will Raylin answer that phone for another go round? Not sure how the ratings for this season did, but I could use another one.

It would appear the Star Trek airing last night on CBS was only for Star Trek Day. But the series is more episodic than serial, so there wasn't much left unanswered.

Any of you watch Deadloch? Australian dark comedy on Prime. Pretty twisted and fun.

3 Body Problem or Three-Body Problem is adapted from the Sci-Fi books series of the same title by Cixin Liu. Up on Netflix in 2024

If you don't mind reading captions, however, it's up on YT. I think currently there are 30? episodes in Chinese.

If thirty eps, it probably covers the whole trilogy, not just the book in the title. Good books, but I will never buy anything by Liu Cixin again because he has supported the government's (near?) genocidal policies toward the Uyghurs.

I hated those books. The translations were just awful.

Complex problem for sure. Re: We do not know if Cixin sincerely believes what he said about Uyghurs or if he made these comments to protect himself from potential reprisal from the state. But that underscores my point about censorship and safety. Even if Cixin did not intend these words, he is a Worldcon guest of honor who has engaged in anti-Uyghur rhetoric.

We finished watching the Yellowstone prequel “1883” last night. I enjoyed it much much better than Yellowstone. Writer Taylor Sheridan still leans too much towards melodrama at times, but overall, it was good with an enjoyable cast. I could have used more Sam Elliot (who is born for a role like this) and less of the daughter, who ends up being the main character. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill do decent jobs considering neither of them are actors. Overall, it is far from perfect, but I enjoyed it.

We watched the miniseries The ABC Murders on Prime. It was quite entertaining. I wonder if there will be a sequel. John Malkovich was utterly convincing as a past-his-prime Poirot.

    We really liked this, too.

Now that we finally have Hulu we just started season 1 of "What We Do In The Shadows". Absolutely brilliant comedy.

Been watching that since the beginning, and you'll be pleased to know the new season which just finished is still just as good as always!
