Thread: Morgan Ågren plays "B'Boom"

    Morgan Ågren plays "B'Boom"

From the Crimson ProjeKct in May. Ågren filling in for Tobias Ralph.

Morgan gets the solo part in the first half of "B'Boom."

Reuter adds some nice soundscapes and droney bits.

The "Thrak" improv is all right.

I know he was sitting in, but it kinda looks and sounds like he's trying to figure out what the hell to play and when.

"B'Boom" sounds just fine. He plays very well over Pat in the intro section.

But "Thrak" never gets off the ground. I doubt he's to blame. Besides some interesting Stick lines from Levin in the beginning, there's not much going on with that one.

I'd like to hear how he sounded on the rest of the set. This looks to have been professionally recorded, so perhaps there's more out there (or more to come).

Morgan Ågren as permanent drummer in this band? They could only wish.

I think its fine, but they are too shy or have 'too much respect'.

I recently heard Morgan with 'Banned from Utopia' - he is really good !!!

*Enough* fellow drummers would place Ågren as no. 1 among contemporary artists of the instrument.

Hos work with Mats/Morgan, Blixt, Thordendahl, Box and more stands next to none or very few.

    Here in his brothers band

Many years ago (in the late 80'ties) I heard him several times with Fläskkvartetten (later Fleshquartet), he played barefootet.

I will politely disagree with you.

To my eyes and ears he fits in well with this group in general and on this selection in particular. I may be wrong but I would imagine a guy of Agren's talent rarely, if ever, struggles with what to play. I would imagine with his ability he struggles with what to leave out.
