'To Be Over' would be a tough one to perform sans Anderson. 'Sound Chaser' would stand a better chance, I think. It's more of a Stevie song anyway...some of his very best guitar work.
must be a gift from above
listened to this one more than any Tull album...think it gave me brain damage
ermmm...could have been the drugs though :drool
Some really good stuff in there, including:
Come
Fiction
Beginning (Of the End)
Tin Foil Hat <--it's Fagen
Let's Do This <-- rocks!
Sleep <-- instant classic
That Could Have Been Me <--...
My favorite Dutch band is also one of my favorite bands period. Golden Earring turned out two consecutive albums, Moontan (1973) followed by Switch (1975) that I consider some of the best rock ever....
Seems to me Beyoncé could take a lesson or two from her much more talented younger sister.
FB is like the mall. PE is like the corner bar. Cheers!
Styx II is my favorite. Not the same band without DeYoung.
It just wasn't the same for me after GUP...can't say if it was them, or me or what. Just never felt the same.
It's interesting that some say post-Signals was a turning point. I always considered that point to be post-Grace Under Pressure.
Terrible? Worst?? Say it ain't so!
rock at its finest.
Anita O'Day. Wow...had no idea. And that's the year I was born.
Thanks for the welcome. Just an observation, but it seems odd to me that you would voluntarily subject yourself to something you hate around 15 times. I suppose it would be a good time to go take a...
errr....guess you already made that point boilk.:oops
Is it possible that was the only time he didn't play it right?
Never saw Rush in concert, eh?
Black guys, help the white guys.

Generally speaking, the band is tighter than the 3rd show in the tour (to be expected). Rabin is much better! So glad to see it.
I was at the 3rd (supposed to be the 4th) show on the tour. I wish I had the opportunity to attend another show to see how far the band has progressed.
tell ya what. Let's flip for it and...errr....Heads We're Dancing?
A true original. Here's to the runner...
Of course.
No need to be sorry. So you're tone deaf. It Happens.
Lionheart and The Sensual World are neck and neck for me.
was wondering the same.
Could I have some butter with that roll?
I would say for all bass players with a backup vocal roll. Let's not compare him to Geddy... that dude's a freak of nature. :lol
Maybe from a purely technical perspective, Pomeroy is a better bass player than Squire was. However, Squire was much more than just a great bass player. He was the "ultimate" performer. No one...
If Howe was with this band (with or without Rabin), it would be the closest to "Yes" as is possible.
Hearts would have been a great choice.
The Relayer tour (1975) was my first Yes show. The ticket couldn't have been more than 10 bucks. Those were the days!
Anyone have an idea how much it costs to put a show like this on? I don't but bet it's not cheap. And touring is the main money maker for artists these days, not recording.
Credited or not, his influence is clear. :up
I agree that Wakeman isn't a "requirement" for the successful Yes formula (Relayer is my favorite), but to say they wouldn't have been very different without his contribution? Can't agree with that.
I would include Tormato in that run. Underrated album.
Second.
awwww, go on... :dgtest
Anderson
Squire
Howe
Wakeman
White
Without a doubt, Howe was by far the best guitarist that ever played with Yes. In fact he is one of the finest of all time period. I choose to include the Banks and Rabin eras even though the "best"...
In my opinion, Anderson and Squire and anyone else they played with were Yes. Any other iteration is a band playing Yes music.
Here's my observations about last night's show in Durham. First, let me say that it was a very enjoyable experience...glad I went. That being said, I'll break it down:
Jon Anderson - Still has...
Will do.
Well, I hope to hell he's been singin' in the shower or something...heading out to see the show tonight!
Totally agree, assuming that it's just a matter of rehearsal to correct.
So maybe the lack of Rabin era songs that made the setlist up 'til now is a result of his current limited vocal abilities?
If I was willing to pay big bucks for VIP seats, it wouldn't be because I wanted the "stuff" that came along with it. It would be for a great seat and perhaps an opportunity to meet the band (even if...
Thanks for the comments...that's what I was hoping to hear! Nice pics.
I really like Rabin. In fact you could argue that he saved the band when he joined up. 90125 and Big Generator were both great albums (Talk not so much IMO). Anyhow, Yes isn't Yes without Jon. It was...
and you know what they say about first impressions....
I was lucky enough to get tickets for Before The Dawn. It was a great show and now the official recording...oh my!
Thanks for the welcome. Going to the show Sunday in Durham and after that I'll be able to express the correct opinion.
TBD
It was my fault to expect what I did, or more correctly to expect what I did so soon after the show. I suppose there wasn't a lot to comment on initially other than the t-shirts and the setlist....
No, you're not the only one. I visited this site for the first time last night hoping to get a little feedback on last night's show. Instead I find a bunch of whiners unhappy with the t-shirts and...
