Warner Brothers Presents Montrose.....No Sammy but still excellent
They only did 80 minutes in Lawrenceburg, Indiana last Saturday night. Skipped the first 2 of the set list Steve showed and started with Point... Enjoyed the show but not a great value considering...
I found Laughing Stock too dissonant for me to keep but still have Spirit of Eden. Colour of Spring was a great transition album of their style change and the easiest of those three for me to listen...
I have to say this review is so spot on for me!
On the other hand Steve, there are proggers that still need to discover this band, especially IV and V. Good for you for starting this thread!
Agree. The yelling turned more into singing and IV and V are my favorites.
It was The Aaron Clift Experiment not The Alex English Experiment. I really liked their cds going in and really enjoyed seeing them live!
I'm with you. SIN is my favorite too but I listen to most of their output with joy. I didn't bother with Palumbo's remake of SIN.
Madman Across the Water-Side one is just amazing!
Most of us still have residual effects of those years when we think of the friends we made and still have, the autographs, the photos, and the great memories. Every year when I play in the...
Saw the show in Cincinnati last night. Really enjoyed it. Set list was great. Only complaint was using new music for an encore after the crowd went wild during Locomotive Breath. Still would highly...
Saw their first show in Stroudsburg, Pa. Great show. 3 hours including the intermission. All I can say is the combination works! Only negative was the reggae version of "Time and a Word" but even...
I need to hire you at my accounting firm!

Wore out the vinyl on that one. Thank God for cds!
We shared the same birthday but more importantly a lasting friendship. Kendall and I send deepest sympathies Steve.
good bands
Caravan-Rosfest
Steely Dan-Cincinnati
Transatlantic-Philadelphia
Eric Johnson-Cincinnati
Steve. try Wisdom of Crowds. Katatonia's singer does the vocals and Bruce from Pineapple Thief is there too.
Mangala Vallis
So did I
Reference point.....Ian's Thick as a Brick tour
"Buddah" by Manfred Mann's Earth Band at Saylor's Lake Pavilion. 1973 or so.
Still wondering...boy or girl? (you had to be there!)
There are lot of those out there. Masque by Kansas comes to mind. It takes a woman......(first track) was a bad idea on a great album. Hackett and ELP always seemed to like to throw in a goofy bad...
Bigelf, The Windmill, Kingbathmat, Lifesigns, Lee Abraham, Salem Hill, Syzygy, Martigan and..............ECHOLYN
Favorites for me were Caravan and Red Sand and beer at the bar after escaping from Thank You Scientists. Yuk.
One seat. Great sound right in front of the soundboard. Full weekend pass. Please PM me if interested
I didn't even know about Guilt Machine until I was reading another Ayreon thread here a few months ago. What a great purchase that was!
One of the best intros ever.........Waitin' for the Wind.......Play it loud today if you have it.
Whaler - Montrose
Mockingbird- BJH
67 Degrees - Echolyn
Are they still doing some cookie monster vocals? I fled the scene when they started throwing those in?
Would like 2 trades or best cash offer.
The Unitopia dude. Yuk!!
Well Steve, Please don't tell Kay one of their best albums was called "Cunning Stunts". We want to see her in May.
"Pink World" by Planet P. Hogarth's screaming vocals on Brave did me in.
I hope you have a great day my friend. Hanging out with a legend is hard but you do it well Kay!
Whaler - Montrose
Last Chance - Shooting Star
Flesh and Blood - Shooting Star
Their new album is called "Tits n Ass". I'm serious. It is quite good but not progressive.
By the way, your dad is a great guy even though he has become a traitor to us neo fans.
That is the only one I still have and really enjoy it. Never warmed up to their singers.
Good call Steve. Tidings doesn't match the two you bought.
There is an independent record store here in Cincinnati that honors Best Buy gift certificates. Take that Big Box.
And another! "Stopover life" by Moonrise. Like new.
Also for trade, "The Long Division" by Third Degree. Like new.
"As far as the eye can see" by Sunchild. Absolutely "like new" condition.
Montrose
The band is still performing with Mick and Manfred on board. I was so lucky to see them 4 times here in the U.S. in the 70s.
Well I've been to 8 of 9 (my client's horse being in the Kentucky Derby forced absense last year). My Top 3 would be BJH 2009, Magic Pie 2006 and Magenta 2005. Never thought Id ever see BJH and they...
Steve, Tell Kay that Kendall will probably join her for a few bails. Me, I'll be staying for all of this act!
I was lucky enough to be at both shows. This is a must have.
Balloon Astronomy (2012). Like new condition
