Had a draft Stone 26th Anniversary Imperial IPA for my first beer in a while, so it tasted extra good. 9.7% ABV. 80 IBU. Triple dry hopped (Centennial). West Coast heaven in a glass.

To my fellow Beer Snobs...How do these look for this years edition? If not, plenty of time to procure some other selections..
I’m back here at Carolina Gardens and they have Sycamore Juciness IPA draft at 4$ for a pint

Thanks guys. Glad they were enjoyed. There were a lot of good beers to sample that we'd not have an opportunity to drink where we come from. It was a cool event that added to the vibe of the festival.

Pretty sure the 6th from left (next to beano) is Gerhard Wessel, who won the guitar raffle. I'm not sure if he's on PE or not. I don't recall the name of the young man on the right, but he was a really good guy, and I had several conversations with him.

Their natural habitat seems to have a weird gravitational field.

Yeah, I got a new phone and a new computer, and I can't submit a portrait photo properly. I don't know what it is. This isn't the first one.

Yes, that is Gerhard and I am pretty sure he is a member here.

Don't worry about it. I assure you, I know less about digital photography and online photo submission. Congrats on being able to buy something new. Dinosaurs are unimpressed with my old computer, and I still lack a cell phone. Not from any fear of technology.

Steve, is that you behind Gerhard, sort of in-between him and beano?

No, I did not make it into any of the pictures that I have seen so far. I was wearing a Jon Anderson shirt on Saturday and a King Lama shirt on Sunday. I brought the Double Two Hearted, Barell Aged Ten-Fiddy and the ever popular Apple Toddy :-).

Hey Ed, I drank that Russian beer you gave me at Progday tonight. An above average Lager, I'd say. Thanks again.

Did COVID alter my perception of taste? I’m finding I can’t stand the taste of bottled Paulaner and Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest beers. Flying Dog and Brooklyn are not as offensive. I’m guessing it’s hops they use. The Flying Dog tastes more like a Marzen we had here at the Baltimore Brewery (DeGroen’s) which adhered to a strict German water and ingredients standard. DeGroen himself was Dutch and trained in Germany. In the restaurant, the beer was fed by gravity taps which applied pressure that way and took the carbonic acid out which carbonation causes. The result is similar to using inert nitrogen to pressure, like Guinness does. Such a shame that DeGroen closed at the end of the 90’s.

Interesting. I lost some taste for a few days when I had COVID and noticed it when drinking IPA's especially, although all seems back to normal now.
