The Galactic Cowboy Orchestra - Earthlift (9/29/15)

I know some folks around here were introduced to these guys per their recent ProgDay appearance(s).

So they have this new album "Earth Lift" coming out next Tuesday, September 29th.

The preorder link is on their bandcamp including the 1st 3 tracks streaming ("Fish of a Feather" in particular, I'm digging).

"When the Levee Breaks" is of course a cover of the Led Zeppelin tune, and quite good from seeing them play it live.

Myself, I am seeing them live again on Friday in Minneapolis at Harriet Brewing with Brice Plays Drums; and imagine they will be playing a lot of this new album and selling copies of it on cd.

    bump.

Just gave it a go. Another excellent record from these guys.

A lot of syncopated riffs and interplay between guitar, fiddle and John Wright's lead-bass lines at points. A great cover of Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks" are among the highlights, as well as "Fish of a Feather," "The Demented Waltz," and "Swara-Kakali."
