I finally got around to A Quiet Place last night and really liked it. Basically a much better Bird Box, which I liked as well. Only diffference is you can see, but can't make noise.

I've not seen either version, have you? I'll be interested to hear your comparison if you've seen them both. This movie is on my list of 'to see'
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

The Caine version is excellent, the Stallone version less so.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

that's precisely what I'd expect... but ya never know until you investigate

I have found Caine to be a brilliant actor

My only issue is that being from Newcastle some of the chase scenes don't work geographically, but you'd only know it if you lived there.

heh, that's the same problem I had with The 7-Ups chase scene. I grew up in the area and the chase was geographically incongruous

Most iconic car chase scenes play fast and loose with the geography. Partly its to take in certain scenic landmarks along the way to emphasise the location.

One of my favorites in that regard is from Brannigan, the John Wayne cop movie shot in London in the 70's. Its not one of his best anyway, but the chase scene takes some very bizarre turns...and the execution of the final jump across Tower Bridge is very poorly done..

I only clicked on it because I thought it was going to be something more interesting...

Watched the HBO doc Leaving Neverland last night.

Michael Jackson's been having sleepovers with pre pubescent boys for most of his adult life.

What do you think really happened?

I think Mikey might have had a Peter Pan complex... wanting to remain a child forever

not sure if there was really anything sexual there, just a screwed up guy

I think MJ was a pedophile.

    The reason:
Michael Jackson's been having sleepovers with pre pubescent boys for most of his adult life.
Where there's smoke, there's usually fire.

My only complaint with the show was that there wasn't a psychologist interviewed for education reasons, leaving the viewer left to make up their own minds or, even worse, blaming the victims. As I posted in another thread, I think it's a good idea to watch this in addition to the HBO doc: Dr Valliere on CBS This Morning. It helps a person understand why victims of child sexual abuse behave the way they do.

Incidentally, I wouldn't be surprised if Macaulay Culkin comes out one day and admits he was abused by MJ, too.

    And Corey Feldman.

Quentin Tarantino should make a movie about it.

If it looks like a diddler , walks like a diddler , quacks like a diddler , it is a diddler.
As for not enough violence... put yourself in the victims shoes .

Shifting gears just slightly... Is anyone else worried that Tarantino's Star Trek movie might actually happen?

Corey Feldman's already said that kind of stuff goes on a lot in the entertainment. Don't know if he named names, but he made it sound like back in the 80's, virtually everyone he knew had some executive or director or whomever try to put them moves on them.

As for Michael Jackson, I seem to recall, right after he passed way, the FBI concluded that there was "no evidence" that any impropriety was going on in that regard. Feldman, incidentally claims Michael never touched him.
