The message was clear to me... pro-planet, pro-peace, pro-children, anti-guns... “Vote Now” message in BLUE .... Jon’s been a political person in his hippy-mystical way all of his life, it’s obvious what side he would come down on.

I really liked the energy and the tune too, quite unexpected.

Unbelievably stupid, well done Jon for sinking to a new rock bottom.

Well, the political sentiments are in line with everything he has been saying for years. He’s an old hippy, and whilst the stark lyrics themselves are not particularly what we are used to from him, he was essentially saying similar things on Gates of Delerium, Tormato, Change We Must.

    Not a bad tune, either.

“be gone you ever piercing power-play machine …”

    love this!

"Political Ends, As Sad Remains, Will Die". It's not "Roundabout" but it was fun to listen to.

Jon's latest song reminds me of this tune by Elton John.

Where are the protest songs? Punk was built on anti-Thatcherism but there's a deafening silence today. How ironic is it then that the angriest voice to date is Jon Fucking Anderson...

Protest music usually arrives in the genres most popular and accessible to the general public. Most of us here, I wager, will therefore never hear it.

Heard it once, never need to hear it again. Love Jon's energy, but not a good song. His "guitar antics" were pretty funny though.

The instrumental section starting at the 2:30 mark is pretty cool...I've never heard him do anything like that before.

I have to say I can't think of another song that concurrently hits the angry and sappy button.

Punk started in '76/'77, Margaret Thatcher was elected in 1979.

Correct. This was decidedly not (at least not initially) about Margaret Thatcher. You can Google who was in power in Britain at the time.

No need to Google it, I can tell you: it was Jim Callaghan. He came from a working class background. Now we're back with PMs who knew each other when they were at Eton.

Glad to see the mostly positive feedback on this. I enjoyed it. I'm generally not a big Jon solo fan, but this works for me.

You want protest songs? Let's start a military draft.

I wonder if he's in talks with guitar companies to build that Jon Anderson/Felix the Cat signature guitar.

There are a gazillion metal tunes out there that surely would fit that description. Did you just call me Shirley?
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.
