Thread: LOOKING FOR YOUR MEMORIES OF PE's HIGHLIGHTS AND LOWLIGHTS

I specifically joined PE to block people. It helps to give it that fresh "my forum" feeling.

Especially if you block everyone, you have your own private forum.

b.t.w. Wasn't there also some Ken with a Nektar-related screenname, who had some internet-radio-show? I think he has played my music.

The Jeff who passed was OptiquesJeff, I believe. I used to be pretty active in the Saturday night chat room (Anal Moon!) on the previous version of PE. There was another guy who was always on there that passed. Probably around 2009. Can't remember his name or PE handle, but we had a couple of brief chats.

I particularly remember several spouses who passed. OptiquesJeff, Kay (ProgGeezer's partner), LP's wife "Spider".

    I think he was only here around 2012 - 13. Wasn't he a F-16 Tec. or so?

Ken Soloman I believe. I lost contact with him. Not sure if he's still in Florida but he stopped posting here about 15 years ago.

When I was working in Miami in 2014, I called Ken (his cell phone no. had not changed) - and had a beer with him.

He was doing well, installing security systems at schools, and he'd bought a Harley...

Turl, aka Fred who banned himself from the forum. He was always an entertaining read.

Who was the guy who got banned who used to post in some kind of garbled [mock?] Scottish slang all the time?

Who holds the record for coming back after bannings? Svetonio?

You're referring to "Wallace" - who still comes back from time to time, in different guises.

I missed that, or didn't it ever come up on here?

At one of the NearFests, I remember walking out of the lobby into a crowd. There was this big, scrawny, raw-boned, biker/blue-collar-guy ranting and holding forth about something or other, and he was twitching and gesticulating and motorvating back-and-forth as he carried on. And I thought, "That's got to be Supp" (who I had never seen or even seen a picture of). And sure enough, it was. The last I heard of him - which was about ten years ago - he had gotten off the drugs and the booze, but gotten onto some extreme, high-anger, high-resentment politics and religion. Alex DeWolf, from whom I heard about that, had unfriended him on Facebook after he started calling Pres. Obama "Obammy" and doing other similar rude racist stuff.

I think you deserve special recognition for always making me laugh out loud - my wife listens in amusement.
What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound (2112)

Cool, Super Hornet? Although I made my Military Service for the Luftwaffe, I just did some financial administration for a Patriot Missile Squadron.

He uses a sort of odd jargon, which - even without the phonetically spelled Scottish - makes him pretty easy to identify. The funny thing was that Lino apparently knew him in real life, and he wasn't obnoxious at all in person.

I *think* he's a bald record collector dude who rides a bike instead of driving a car.

High points - meeting many great people from this site, starting with Sean at the Musical Box concert here in Atlanta in 2002, Vic and Alex at several Kansas concerts, Duncan at Rosfest and South Florida, and last, but not least, Keith (Jubal) who helped me when I first moved here in 2005.

    Ken Solomon’s nickname was WaltNektroid.....

Can’t believe I joined this site over 19 years ago....

You were the one that told me about PE. Kansas at Gulfstream Park, Hollywood, FL, 2002. I had a lotta fun at Gulfstream. Last time I saw Kansas was at the Miccosuki Rez in 2008. Steve Walsh was still in the band. Good to see you around.
