Being a long time fan of horror author Bryan Smith, I was excited to see that one of his books was made into a movie.
    68 Kill

Over the top story about a meek , atypical nice guy Chip, and his dominant outlandish super hot girlfriend. (Liza)
Liza talks Chip into helping her rob a wealthy trick of hers. Things do not go as planned, setting off a string of outrageous events.
Lots of humor, action, and violence. This is the rare movie that nails it. The actors all grabbed the essence of their characters from the book well.
AnnaLynne McCord is especially good as Liza. Klonk, you need to see this! What sucks is that I bought the dvd, and 2 weeks later it shows up on Netflix!

Too Old To Die Young--new series on Amazon. It's a crime drama by Nicolas Winding Refn, who also did Drive and The Neon Demon, among others. It's a crime series sort of a mix of David Lynch and Tarantino.

Just watched the new Godzilla, extremely silly but exactly what a monster movie should be, loads of fun, I don't think Boston will ever recover.

My wife made me watch a movie she found on Netflix called Side Effects. I looked it up and said, "You had me at 'directed by Steven Soderburgh'." A tight little thriller with some nice twists, plus an indictment on the American pharmaceutical industry.

I once knew a girl who had a tight little thriller with some nice twists.

Rust Creek--horror, crime movie about a girl over the holidays has car trouble and approached by some convict brothers. Pretty decent, and fairly intense at times.

Just watched "Mean Streets" on Netflix. Even though I am a big Martin S. fan, I have never seen this film. Great stuff from Dinero and Kaitel.

I caught it off Showtime. But check out the crime series, Too Old To Die Young, it's on Amazon Prime. I've really enjoyed it. Sort of slow and artsy in places though.

We watched the Zach Galifianakis' "Between Two Ferns" movie on Netflix. If you've seen these interviews on Funny or Die dot com, they're pretty good if you like that kind of awkward humor. The movie is more of the same but the behind the scenes story is fleshed out to often hilarious effect. I'll give it two ferns up!

I just kind of discovered "Between Two Ferns" recently. I will have to check out the movie. I did not know it was out yet.

Billy Elliot (2000). A really decent film. Unique and compelling story.
