I was there for GG, though I liked both groups. It was the only one of the three times I saw GG that they were headlining, and I heard a lot of Renaissance fans in the hall grumbling about that.

I'll make a (not so) wild guess that whoever posted it was NOT referring to this nifty band.

I once saw a really bad comedian open for an acoustic Strawbs performance...oh, about 6 or 7 years ago. I couldn't figure out how the guy had the nerve to get on a stage in the first place, and the second place to make through his "comedy" act to get to the Strawbs, it just struck me as massively disrespectful to both the band and the audience. At one point in the set, he calls out to the venue's owner and says "I need to talk to you when we're done here, and I called out "You mean when you're done dying onstage", and he just snapped and went ballistic at me, swearing at me and laying this "I'm working up here" trip at me. It sure as hell didn't look like "work" to me.

Ya, the Renaissance fans at the Steve Martin show were also pretty pissed that Renaissance wasn't the headliner. Oh well, always a bridesmaid but never a bride

Nice list! I was also at most of those NYC shows as well as that Genesis Rockland county one which I believe was a general admission show.

I think that's right about the general admission at the Rockland County show. That was an unusual venue, to say the least.
