Damn, I remember a place on 34th St, just off 7th Avenue at Penn Station called (rather wittily) Lox, Stock and Bagel. You could see them making the bagels through the front window - big 6 foot planks with the raw bagels were dunked in boiling water for a few seconds then put in the oven. They were the best bagels ever. It became a Barnes & Nobles for a while, I think its a bank now.

I nevuh hoida it! Right by MSG, too; it would have been great to go there after concerts I probably never saw it because the place might not have existed until after I moved away from NYC. It must have been fun to see the bagels being made en masse like that!
