For Simon's sake, I hope this is fake or at least not too serious. Sad, if true.

Simon is refuting the allegations.
As the Collins' Turns
Wow, I wonder if this has anything to do with why Dave left? I would not expect him to comment on this, but it does make you wonder.
Rick..
I wouldn't want to trade places with Simon on a good day. It's tough to come from a privileged background and be second fiddle to one's dad at times. Hell, even his album seems like it was written listening to his father's range with the choice of keys.
I would hope that one would have grown out of that "silliness" at his age if it is indeed true. However, other than dad not being around, I don't think Simon has ever had a want other than having more hair. ;-) Seems like he had his father's soundman on tour with him and a motorcoach that not even his label would provide for. I would also assume British law is tougher than American law where, being a celebrity's son, having a team of high-paid lawyers, he would probably just get his hands slapped.
Might be some good for him if he had to sleep on a uncomfortable bed and eat siht food for a couple of weeks. ;-) Might even come up with great songs and a harder edge as a result.
He did grow up in Vancouver, home for BC bud
As for England's classification of hard drugs as class a and bud as class b, that just shows higher level of intelligence than the US which classifies bud as the worst. The intelligentsia in the US are happy with dealing bull shit to the masses.
As a big fan of Sound of Contact's album, and specifically of Simon Collins' work on it, I really hope the allegations are false.
Music isn't about chops, or even about talent - it's about sound and the way that sound communicates to people. Mike Keneally
In related news, here we see Collins's nephew - Philip Austin Collins being escorted to a local hospital for his first ultrasound. You can plainly see he is in his first trimester..showing his "pot" belly. Best wishes to both father and baby.

And Simon Says: Not Coming Down
You lost control You crossed the line
You walked the edge one last time
Closed the door, locked the gate
Spin the wheel, twist your fate
Heard the call, walked the wall
Cut the rope and watch us fall
In a cloud, take a look around
You're so high you're not coming down
Broke the reins, fading away
You're so high, you're not coming down
You've no regard for who's around you
Spinning out with no escape
In a world of a different shape
It's all the same, it's all the same
You go back from where you came
In a cloud, take a look around
You're so high you're not coming down
Broke the reins, fading away
You're so high, you're not coming down
You're so high, you're not coming down
So clever you don't have a clue
What is real and what is half of the deal
You just can't feel
You're all messed up
You're never happy with what you've got It's never enough, you just give up
(All the same, all the same, all the same)
In a cloud, take a look around
You're so high you're not coming down
You're so high you're not coming down
You're so high you're not coming down (Coming down)
You're so high you're not coming down (Coming down)
You're so high you're not coming down
Simon Collins ruined ... oh, never mind.

A rock musician caught with drugs?
Next you'll be telling me they have pre-marital sex too.
These people...

Let's all remember he's innocent until proven guilty. As Rufus says, dealing is a serious allegation. I hope it proves to be nothing, or at worst, a bit of personal possession.
If you share drugs with your friends it is classified as dealing or 'supply' in the UK.
Guilty or not, looks like our friend Dave K (aka Squids) got out before he got In Too Deep.
JK
Hopefully someone is there to provide him with A Groovy Kind of Love.
Actually, I wrote those words and it was originally about my other former bandmate Kevin Gilbert...
Anyway, as you might expect, I have very little to say about the subject of this news except that I hope he's okay and that he and his family get through it all with the least damage possible. This is all news to me and I know nothing about it. I haven't talked to Simon since we split in the band. But, I can tell you that this is not why I left.
