I suppose there's no chance that "endless tour" will include North American dates, huh?

Has the track list for the new album been released yet?

The album will reportedly include the new arrangement of "Rïah Sahiltaahk" they've been performing recently (cf the Epok 5 DVD),
the complete "Slag Tanz", and two new pieces ("Sonneries" 1 & 2).
Details of the "endless tour" (and other plans) have not yet been disclosed. But I wouldn't expect to hear the "Köhntarkösz" trilogy at the RIO festival.

I don't know if things have changed since I talked to Francis Linon in late May, but what he told me is that they would release not one album, but two 25-minute CD-EPs, one with "Riah Sahiltaahk" (in September) and another with "Slag Tanz" (possibly before the end of this year). He seemed pretty positive that this was the format they wanted to stick to.

Not that Magma is such a bad offender.

A West Coast date would be nice. I'm not holding my breath though. However, I'm sure Magma could sell in SF and LA. The Great American Music Hall would be a great place for them. Camel sold a couple nights there when touring Rajaz.

I'll tell you right now, if I had the financial means to do it, I'd book the band in Cleveland. Such a show would almost certainly lose money, but if I had the money to do it, I'd make it happen, just for the novelty of having them play here, even if there's only five people in the audience.

I speak with zero certainty yet some experience.

Magma are not going to come to the USA without a festival gig. Every time they have come to the USA in the 90s and 00s, was anchored by a festival:

    The Touch Festival
    NEARFest #1
    NEARFest #2
    Sonic Circuits

I don't know of anything brewing that will get them over here with the VISAs that they need to play. So, don't hold your breath, USA chappies.

Yeah, I reckoned that would be the case. That's why I'm sort of half seriously thinking of going over to Paris for at least a couple nights of the Triton run, or failing that, maybe I'll get over there a little bit later in the "endless tour". But I'd really like to see them play the Köhntarkösz / K.A / Ëmëhntëhtt-Rê with Benoit et Julie.

I guess I'll content myself to looking forward to a live release like the Theusz Hamtaahk Trilogie box set, which I still cherish after all these years.

Thats a bit meh compared to the previous triton residency, in terms of both setlist and guests (which changed each week).

  22. #22
Not meh to me, not close. First, just adding Julie will change the dynamic. Putting her in Kohntarkosz should be epic. And BEnoit will work nicely against Jeremie.

As I understand, this is still perhaps in planning, as they are also trying to return to Americhe Sud as well. But one can hope!
