Already bought my ticket for One Shot. Le Triton will screen a documentary about James before the concert.

As a uni student on a tight budget, I'm kinda scared at the prospect of booking a hotel room in Paris (as staying in hostels does not look like a good idea during a pandemic) but this is surely worth it.

And of course some over sensitive dude will point out with three dots at the end, like it's some crime.

Maybe it is, but I had a rough, busy day and my thought was with very limited time to post this here. I was having trouble to copy paste this here with my shitty computer, had to edit my post twice, checked out if this was posted before - but failed to notice that it had - and then got the three dots treatment that I am not the one reading the posts of the others. I would prefer being called an asshole than being sentenced to the three dots execution.
For what it's worth I don't have a problem with Calyx who is a great source of information and I would guess is a truly great guy. But the whole environment here is very hostile, and it may be the internet, but I am not obliged to have to defend myself all the time for my opinions or my infelicities. It ain't fun anymore.

Here's a recommendation - operate from the position that posters on PE mean the best not the worst. I think it was a pretty harmless post if you don't take it the wrong way.

That's amazing. So glad you are going. Please give us a report on the show and the doc. You are right, it will definitely be worth it. It's great to hear that people are getting back to living again. I had the good fortune to see One Shot at NEARfest many moons ago. It was a great gig. Although I don't know him, I did get the chance to talk with him at length after a Magma show. Such a monster musician and a great guy.

An excellent recommendation - and one I try to use (not always successfully) in broader society. Emojis are widely scorned but I use them as they help convey the sentiment behind stuff I write here, on other social media and in emails. Something that is written in a light-hearted way can often appear aggressive/angry/sarcastic as the reader cannot see the author's smile. I hope you stick around Zappathustra as your comments are great.

I just finished watching it. A killer MDK! This current incarnation seemed to have a slightly lighter sound/texture overall but that's not a criticism. The singing with five female vocalists was exquisite and I really loved that aspect the most. Herve sounded great too, as did the ryhthm section. Too bad it was just the one piece.

I had issues with the mix- the bass was just buried in that clip and to be honest, Jimmy is not Bubu. But I do agree that the vocals are exquisite, and you have 5 women and 2 men singing, plus Christian- and some of the drumming is a bit less complex, plus they cut the bass coda at the end- but yes, I am happy to hear this. It is nearly 50 years old!

I suppose that if push comes to shove that I like it, but MDK is definitely my least favorite ‘major’ work by the band….

The studio version has the bizarre vocals and thin mix, but it has a certain charm. After watching the new MDK performance, it sort of renewed my love for the piece. I've been hot and lukewarm with it in the past, but its hot at the moment. The Epok 2 version with Top just kicks all sorts of Zeuhlassh. I need to revisit the older mid and late 70s versions. I've been really digging Wurtah Itah....sooo good.

Here's a question: Why didn't CV play the kit on Zess since it was a studio recording anyway? Agren played beautifully regardless.
