Agreed, this isn't quite as fiery as the Epok V version, though that version doesn't have the "les silence des Mondes" section either. As usual, the vocals are mixed better in this studio recording, and I'd say the piano is a bit higher in the mix as well. Vander doesn't sound quite as unhinged on drums, but that could also be a mixing thing. The build at the end of the track "Slag Tanz" is incredible, into some of the craziest sounding vocals I can remember on a Magma album, and the ending track is cool too. In any case, WHAT A BAND!!!!

The version from Roadburn is even more brutal. This is the end part of the song, with some of the newer vocal parts in it:

I'm not lazy. I just work so fast I'm always done.

yea any Magma live is pretty much an auto-buy though I must say I'm a little let down by the tracklistings...Magma have so many great pieces in their catalogue and yet 2/3rds of these releases spend an hour for yet another version of Kohntarkosz and MDK

    Now that's a double bill.

Though I wish both would play full sets. (Not that I'm going of course...)

That is awesome! King Crimson is going to have to up their game.

This is no slight on King Crimson, mind you. I think anyone trying to take the stage after Magma would feel some pressure to really bring it.

Is the Swedish gig to take place at the Fasching club? I've attended a fantastic Bill Bruford show there in 2006. The band was on fire, got a 5 minutes standing ovation after the encore and came back to play another piece.

    Check out www.fasching.se

Great place in walking distance from the central station.
