“Remember, if it doesn't say "Cuneiform," it's not prog!” - THE Jed Levin
Any time any one speaks to me about any musical project, the one absolute given is "it will not make big money". [tip of the hat to HK]
"Death to false 'support the scene' prog!"

Watched it today during my lunch break (I kid: I don't work during the summer so "lunch breaks" are not a thing, but I imagine other people could potentially have been on their lunch break at about the same time, thus "lunch break"), and there was definitely a lot of that.
The affected accents were . . . charming.
But I didn't know how the albums were grouped or, actually, the large details of the whole story. Surely I could have looked that up in the decade or so that I've been listening to Magma, but I never did for whatever reason.
I.e., it was just informative enough. A deeper dive would certainly be interesting, but I can't imagine there's much public appetite for such a thing.

Ok, so I was in a Magma kick yesterday and listened to all the 70s studio albums. How come the drum production on MDK is so awful? Where are the drums and when they're there, how come they sound like cardboard boxes?![]()
One story I heard is that several of the individual drum tracks were erased to make room for more vocal tracks, and all that remained was the overhead mike, or something (not much more than that in any case). I think Vander complained about/regretted that decision in one interview... or was it liner notes?

In the Chelsea district, NYC, there was a historic Nabisco factory, the location where they came up with the Oreo cookie. Now the building is the Chelsea Market. Was just making a loose connection for fun

Irene Baladina is the Stevie Wonder song, I think- it is a pretty song, but does not have the rhythmic impetus of other Magma songs.
