I was there too. A wonderful evening, though a shame to see so many empty seats.

I don't think so unfortunately. I wish I knew how to rip audio from dvds but I'm just a lowly peasant.

MacGaw's solo on Kobaia (Epok I) might possibly be the most 'out' guitar solo I've ever heard...it's in the running at least. Beautiful!

^ When Magma came to America in 2010, MacGaw was sadly absent. But his replacement Jim Grandcamp did what was definitely my favorite guitar solo I've ever heard during Kobaia during the live show I saw. I'll have to see if I can dig up Epok I and listen to MacGaw's version.

Very, very out there! Only James could pull it off, though.

Stuff seems to be coming fast and furious. Never heard this one before:

    And:

This is an amazing version of ER 2 and 3- and it is from 44 years ago! Intense stuff here.

Listening to the first clip, I love les cygnes, it is very effective with drums, I wonder what made CV decide that the studio version should be drumless...
Perhaps he wanted this piece to be a showcase for his "composer" abilities?

Okay, who can tell me what the band is even playing here in the clip? I sure do not know.

Yes, it is unusual. Haven't seen it before either.
Its a jam - 38.03 Widemann starts playing a Jan Hammer tune: "Red and Orange"

I thought so! But I sure was not sure- I had never heard of Magma doing that ever.

Now, here is another find: Chaumont, 1974, with superb early version of some songs. 1974 Chaumont is Top, and Kohntarksoz is heavy heavy heavy.:

Speaking of James, I'm surprised that so far no one mentionned here his last album (2020 - La fin des Temples) which had been written for Magma.

Bought it on release day. Compositionally it's very very cool, but I was honestly put off by the lead vocals.
